ALSO YOU KEEP CONFUSING YOUR "BIBLE WIZARDS" WITH BIBLE FACT. Thats ground already covered in this topic.

I'm afraid you are Jess! But that is to be expected you are but a woman.

:)

Let men do the dirty work. After all, there must be something in the Bible about the fact that only man are capable of 'dirty' work !

'rambill',

Man you're good.

You almost had me again!!! I almost took that last post seriously, and just as I was going to answer you, I went, MY GOD!!! He's putting us on again!

But Rambill tell me, did you do particular studies to be this good, or does it come naturally in your case?!?!?

Apperently you enjoy letting your intelligence show. If I had that as my basis for my life then i would suggest you do some research before your real ambitions backfire.... Miles

Goodness me...the amount of snide posturing!!!!

Shows the level of testosterone woven into books that were written a couple of thousand years ago!

When you are all done posturing...I will get down off my soapbox.

I ddo not enjoy or like what is happening. But the posting has been to ridicule and that just should not be. I would hope for a fact finding discussion on the forum basis. Since most here that adhere to the christian faith. We are all different and should respect each other and those who we might find affending to us but i believe and hope we can tell when ridiculing turns mean... Shalom.. Miles

Miles, I beg to differ as to the 'who' of the people who post within the religion forums...

There are some that 'follow' the christian faith...and then there are others.

I agree. But i believe i do not have to say it nor will i on this form what i am talking about. What people say can say alot about the level of confidence to which we should just leave alone. I believe you know what i am saying.. Blessings .. Miles

There are MANY good people on these forums. The religious forums have very good posters. Believers and non believers of religion, or God. Giving their views and beliefs and wisdom and hopes. To which I greatly welcome with open arms. I enbrace you all. Whether you like it or not. Sticking tongue out. So there.

My comments were directed at 'rambill', and legitimately expressed the fact that I do not share the positions he is expressing in this post: 'women's place in society as dictated by the so-called 'laws' of the Bible'.
'rambill' is an articulate person and has no difficulty in expressing his beliefs and opinions on a great number of varied topics. He doesn't need help in articulating his positions and certainly doesn't anyone to come to his rescue. While you have every right to express what you have expressed 'Miles', IMO your intervention, since it was direted at me, landed as a sword slash through water. Lots of form, little substance.

I respect 'rambill' as a person, and he knows that. Not agreeing with most of his positions on things, would not stop me from going to great lenghts to defend his right to believe and express his beliefs as he sees fit, which I have done often in the past, and will keep doing.

The beauty of life lies in the exchange. Disagreement is but a form of human exchange. Sarcastic humour is but a light form of expressing disagreement. As long as some don't start believing that their positions, morals, beliefs have dominion over other's, expressing differences is the richest form of dialogue.

With all due respect 'miles', I suggest you put your 'sword' away, and don't go creating conflicts were there are none.

Thanks.

Now back to the topic,

In 2007,
"why can't women preach???",
very distinct from...
"... explain why they can't!!!".

The simple answer is the priesthood was for the 1st born male. This was rejected by the 12 tribes except levi. This is where we get the levitical priesthood. The 1st born male was who Yahweh created and Yahshua was sent as our High Priest as the only begotton son. The scriptures say that the older women are to teach the younger women. They also can preach to the younger and give councel to them. The order was set up at the beginning just as Yahshua is in Authority over the males and covers them as the male covers his wife and children. Shalom.... Miles

Miles, I believe it was supposed to be the first born male, but then God changed it to the family (house) of Levy, which is why Leviticus is named as it is as that states all the priest rules and governing laws. I think that went down about the same time as God getting mad at everybody except Joshua and Caleb and told them they would never see the promise land. Its in the same region as the order of families and travel and all that good stuff and who carries what.

Never mind - you're right Miles, they asked Moses to intercede, but didn't the other tribes get freaked out when those two brothers (sons of Aaron, I believe) got zapped by lightening for not bringing the sacred fire but just a regular one. Ya gotta admit Miles, God expected and demanded a whole lot more from his priesthood back then. Interestingly, has a punishment by God ever been historically recorded since the Bible or would the death of Jesus make that the reason why not if so?

Wait a minute if the law of God doesn't change, wouldn't that be a change?

This was a agreement he was making. just as in Exodus 24 with the sprinkling of blood when the people agrreed to all that Yahweh said. When Yahshua died and went before his father as the High Priest the 1st born became the family of Yahweh. This being that all who accept him (his son as the son of Yahweh) now become the 1st born. With the washing of the person.Baptism. Now all priests had to be washed and this is why we have baptism. Then the Holy Spirit comming and the 1st born become the temple of Yahweh because Yahshua lives in you. So it has not changed it was brought back to where it was meant to be. A grace/pardon to us enabling you and me to have eternal life. And a pure channel of communication to our creator. Shalom DKW good question..... Miles

Oh as far as the thread goes regarding women preachers --- When God was gonna wipe out the Israelites and Moses intervened and convinced God it wouldn't make him look too great if he saved a nation of people just to lead them out to a dessert and then wipe 'em out, I'm of the opinion Kat could run neck and neck with Moses at convincing God too.
