Sir, debate with genuine respect of others, and others shall respect you. Debate open-mindedly with others, with a genuine commitment to uncover 'what is true' through the exchange, rather than 'pushing YOUR TRUTH', and others will likewise conduct themselves.

On the other hand Sir,
... call other fellow citizens and debaters ZOMBIES, and grossly mischaracterize their statements simply because they articulately propose a different perspective than yours,
... and you forfeit all privileges to appeal for fairness and respect.

Name-calling Fanta a 'Zombie', or referring to me as a 'far left wing idiot', is not only gross mischaracterization, it reveals the degree to which you are misguided, uninformed, and close minded to perspectives incompatible to yours.

With your name calling and mischaracterization habits, together with your angelic, 'holyer than thou' calls for fairness and thruth from others, you Sir only establish yourself as a perfect ambassador for the 'pyromaniac-fireman' brotherhood.

Should you make genuine attempts to practice open-mindedness, willingness for 'true' exchanges, while enthusiastically examining, weighing and sometimes dropping parts of your 'staid' perspectives, you might be surprised to find way more opportunities to collaborate with others, rather than fabricate and mischaracterize them as ennemies.

You want fairness?!?!? Practice fairness!

Nope, didn't call you that. May have referred to people of a similar ilk as such, but I know the difference. I think you and Fanta are an educated liberalist and an uneducated liberalist. Between the two neither of you will give a fair shake to any ideology besides your own. Your position is pretty familiar to me and I have some idea of the fundamentals used to base your opinions. I happen to think they are closed minded to a degree in the same way a salesman's can be closed. You have an agenda you wish to promote. That's fine but I prefer more reason in my politics. Fanta's arguments conflict with themselves. Can't argue with him, pointless. Zombie may be a little strong, but a person who hike steps with move-on can't be terribly sane. That's my opinion, live with it or not. I don't care and I no longer am interested in entertaining your twisting demagoguery. Don't have time for you.

Fanta ... Ireland is not part of the British Commonwealth. They are separate. They left in the late 1930s I think. As opposed to declaring independance which is what most countries did.

... and the comment about the IRA, were you agreeing with me or laughing at the comment?

Belushi we got our independence in 1921, except for 6 counties up the north which are under British rule. The majority of Irish people do not support the I.R.A of which membership is now illegal. Regardless of your present govt Bill Clinton was a major player in bringing peace to our Island.
I love visiting the U.S. have a lot of family there and as anywhere I visit respect that countrys laws, culture etc.

P.S. we were never part of the British Commonwealth

celticfairy, Welcome to JSHflowerforyou flowerforyou

I was agreeing Belushi!!!

Irish home rule was to be provided under the Home Rule Act 1914, but the onset of World War I delayed its implementation indefinitely. At Easter 1916 an unsuccessful armed uprising was staged in Dublin by a mixed group of nationalists and socialists. From 1919 the Irish Republican Army fought a guerrilla war to secede from the United Kingdom. This Anglo-Irish War ended in 1921 with a stalemate and the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty. (Voluntarily, HA)

The treaty confirmed the division of Ireland into two states, most of the island (26 counties) became the Irish Free State, a dominion within the British Commonwealth, while the six counties in the north with a majority Protestant community remained a part of the United Kingdom as Northern Ireland. (I should inject here that the majority protestant population were a land grab/relocation policy enacted by England in the 16oo's)

The Free State evolved into the Republic of Ireland, which withdrew from the Commonwealth when enacted in 1949. (Withdrew when enacted. Doesnt that mean they never were part of the commonwealth)

Heres the part and the reason that America supported (unofficially) the IRA. To help them reobtain all their country!

Ireland's Constitution claimed Northern Ireland as a part of the Republic until 1998. The issue of whether Northern Ireland should remain in the United Kingdom or join the Republic of Ireland has divided Northern Ireland's people and was a factor in a long and bloody conflict known as the Troubles. The Belfast Agreement of 1998 brought about a ceasefire between most of the major organisations on both sides.
