Hi all, some people are here to pretend they're someone else so they can get you hooked and think that eventially you will send them money in case of an emergency. Be aware, happened to me... Not sending the money part... But at this day in time you don't know anymore if you can trust somebody. Just be smart enough because you have to figure it out yourself. I'm new to this "mingle2" site and someone will have to convince me why I should stay on here. Mayby there is something more that I don't know about yet. Sorry if it doesn't sound clear enough, English is not my native tongue, feel free to ask. Cheers

Jeez, a guy just can't win. I recently decided to make an acount on POF and the instructions that they give you there when you're filling in your profile is to say what makes you unique. How's that not going to come across as being pretentious?

As far as the men being picky goes, if that's the case how come you ladies are always complaining about being spammed with hundreds of messages every day? I'm lucky if I get one message a day on here and there's nothing on my profile to make me sound picky, even if you do think that I sound pretentious.

I'm on a couple of other sites, but mingle2 is by far the most fun & entertaining there are plenty of interesting people in these forums with lots of different topics to get into. Also, I don't think it's a very good idea to bug the women about meeting or dating, Women, if they are interested in you, will find a way to let you know about how they feel without being pushy or obnoxious about it. I haven't seen a single one without a shirt on yet..lol. The key thing is to have patience, try to be friendly and throw some humor around. If I were to discount all the contacts from the 20 something year old hottie scammers I receive, I'd be happy with 1 message a week from a real woman who might be interested in me as a person...good things come to those who wait for them to happen......

... and if they were to reveal their short fall, then they'd be busted for indecent exposure.

Mingle2 is by far the most fun because of the people in the forums it's a great place to hang out.

I don't see anything wrong with being picky; don't you think it's everyone's right to date whoever they want? Why should anyone have to settle?

Hell, I'm picky about who I talk to, let alone who I want to go out with; I can tell from an email- or a post on the forums- whether or not I want to spend my time getting to know them, and sometimes, when I'm proven wrong, and they turn out to be a jerk or an idiot, I fix the problem by never speaking to them again. I think everyone should be that way, my time is precious, why spend it on someone that doesn't interest me or who isn't exactly what I want?

As for why people are on more than one site, they're probably trying to increase their odds of meeting someone, since depending on one source for anything isn't always a very good idea....

Hi dear friends. People are on these sites for various reasons. There is one guy I met in another site for a serious relationship after communicating over 6 months. He borrowed money. I gave him 25% of what he wanted. Communication continued. He would say he'd deposit the money and kept on postponing. By then communication about 'us' was fading until it died. I see the same guy on this site. So everyone must be cautious about the people they deal with. I don't post my pics on site but am free to send to friends on request. I am still very hopeful and positive.

Not trying to pick a fight. But I'm willing to bet you have your standards to and to get mad at a group that you view to be a certain way when I'm willing to bet you have probably reject people based on age or looks or probably the way they talked. Everyone does that. I don't usually make all inclusive statements. But this is one that is true as far as I know. So it seems silly to condemn a group because you feel slighted by them.
