Why? Aren't there already enough horror stories available for Halloween?

too many reasons to name

I think the most common is a belief that something 'better' exists,, and sometimes that belief is not without merit

there is a fine balance between loving oneself , loving another, and (for Christians) loving God

because love requires that there is an aversion to harm,, meaning love of self manifests in the desire to protect oneself from harm

loving another manifests in a desire to protect another from harm

and love of God manifests in a desire to live a life pleasing to God

when any of those three things are in contrast,,,it requires a choice,, often the choice is the self and God

my first husband was repeatedly unfaithful, having a son we both loved, I had to choose whether I should continue to risk my life laying with this man and risk my sons very example of manhood by accepting a marriage where the man isn't forsaking all others,, I decided it wasn't

my second husband was only a husband on paper, as we lived on separate continents, but even from a far he became verbally abusive and emotionally manipulative, causing quite a bit of stress and harm to my mental and emotional health,

having a daughter we loved I had to decide if that was the example of marriage I wanted for her and whether it was fair to her to continue to have an overstressed and miserable mother to hold on to the marriage that only existed on paper,, I decided it was not

People get divorced for a lot of reasons, I can't imagine why it would interest a third party...

I think the reasons for divorce between couples is very personal and should remain that way.

Divorce happens for many reasons...its up to the person to tell you not just to be thrown out there on any board. An honest person will tell you both sides not just what they went through. Divorce's suck because of the wasted time invested into the other person...

Yeah, that's what I meant, why in the world would you want to air your dirty laundry on a message board???

people do it all the time

share their terrible experience with obamacare

or government

or their jobs

some people don't want to share, and that's fine too, but its not so unusual to 'air dirty laundry',, when its in context of a topic

I know it's not unusual, it's just not something I would do. But I'm a very private, semi-paranoid person.

Ppl get divorced because the relationship didn't work anymore, for whatever reason, and maybe for one of the partners, maybe for both.

I wanted to divorce when I realized I didn't love my husband the way one should love a husband anymore.
Second LTR I agreed to break up because the relationship didn't work out, wasn't going anywhere and hadn't for a long long long long time.
This last breaking up was very unusual and in its own way very special. After we decided to break up, I couldn't move out straight away, I had to wait to get a council house. This took 9 months (I was lucky, it can take up to 3 years!). So these 9 months we still lived under the same roof, still did the normal daily things together (shopping, cooking, dining, laughing but also the daily arguing etc). At some point it was like we had decided to split up but nothing had changed at all. As if we'd said something like "Nice weather today" instead of "We're going to end the relationship", really weird.
Then out of the blue I got my council house, huge garden, garage and driveway, which is not common to get with a cheap rental. So I was ecstatic! He helped me for months doing up the garage, put up a gate and some fencing, we worked our @sses of indoors (painting walls, flooring etc) and he helped me move.
The good thing about these 9 months living together, knowing we were going to split up, is that it wasn't all that harsh to actually split up. Emotionally you start letting go the moment you have mentioned the words "I want to end the relationship", bit by bit. It's kind of like weaning yourself off a relationship.

That's in short, left the bad stuff and details out of it as those are no ones business tongue2

Because they are not right for each other simple as that, if they were right for each other no need for divorce

Because the game is over and the novelty of
her winning has wore off

single guy look more exiting to her? Still full of fun and life

Its a slippery slope my friend.ohwell
