Because the game is over and the novelty of
her winning has wore off

now wouldn't that free spirited
single guy look more exiting to her? Still full of fun and life

Its a slippery slope my friend.ohwell

It's actually men that turn to other women for fun and excitement.
Women usually hope to find their soul-mate. Meaning women are serious in what they're looking for and hoping to find, men just wanna have fun.
Not making this up myself, this is what research has come up with. Sorry pal ...

Apart from that, you may wanna look at your own part of a relationship not working out. Things go sour for a reason. The party that wants the divorce often gets the blame, but wanting a divorce doesn't mean you're the one that's responsible for the relationship not working out.

Short version. I spent all my time working to support us that I didn't see she wasn't getting the attention she needed from me so she turned elsewhere. We got divorced the end.laugh

It just isn't easy. We had kids, so I was home with the kids, he was working. And even though we were quite happy, it's mostly about the family, not about the couple. Not enough time, nor the money, to go out together, a weekend away or something like that.
So even though we were a close-knit family, we as a couple had started to grow apart, bit by bit.
I'm guessing he felt/feels similar to you: "I worked my @ss off for the family and she wants a divorce?!?!"
But that's looking at the surface only. There was a lot more going on than that.

Not at all really we had a child together as well but thats not exactly how it went down. If I hadn't caught her she probably would've kept trying to string me along and take advantage of me. I wasn't having that. We had only just gotten married like it didn't even last a month so I'm sure it was going on long before we got married I just didn't catch wind of it till a few weeks after the marriage. Its more of if I knew then what I knew now it would;ve ended long before we got hitched.

I'm not been serious so please just ignore me when
I write controversial stuff like that.
I'm most happy when I say it and it goes away.

Since its on the table;I will agree with "woman
are usually looking for their soul mate".
Oddly that is the slippery slope a made light of.
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions".
"Looking" is the key word. Imo; and in my verbal
and physical experiences many woman convinced
their selves that 'he' is the one and reach for the stars then realize he's just not the one.

I Believe men love deeper, its just takes them longer to get there. I believe most woman fall quick but its often a lot less of a love than they originally thought; more surface love.
I think young couple in general will most likely
have a breakdown due to life's changes from one side of another.
I don't think older men run for excitement, maybe if
they have been tied down all their adult life
in some cases.
FYI: if you have 'viable' research sources as you say then do state your source or never bring it up.

Well, there's one reason why relationships might not work out for you: don't order women around!
If you want something, you can ask for it, politely. Groveling is fine as well.

I think it's superficial to say women love less deep. I think the one thing that happens often, is that (young) women settle for someone, thinking that the qualities that aren't nice/compatible, will change over time.
For centuries we've been reared to please men and for some reason or other many (mostly young) women feel that helping their man to become a better/completer man, is also pleasing him.
They haven't learned yet (through life's lessons) that you shouldn't want to change someone and that someone won't change. Then after xxx years of marriage, they find that he indeed doesn't change, have a lot of rows because of it, and realize they aren't a good match.
Men have their part in this dynamic too, although I'm not entirely sure what that is. Maybe they like the attention and care they get at first and later on they start to feel smothered?

Somehow we should change these tendencies when raising children, as the core of such behaviour / convictions usually are to be found in childhood.

Don't forget divorce is far more socially acceptable now so people are less inclined to "work" things out. People in general are more likely to just cut their losses and start over.

Or you could get to know your potential spouse very well before you get married and hope for the best...nothing is guaranteed, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

As far as I'm concerned you cannot promise to stay together for the rest of your lives. You should, however, have that intention.
You don't become each other's possession when you get married/in a relationship. If you don't love/like/want the other or each other anymore, why should you have to stay together till death do you part?
HOPE you will stay together till death do you part. If not, let each other go in love

I've never married because when I do I need to know inside that it's not a flash in the pan. I nearly got married once, but I was a single father and it was a choice what was best for me, or my son? My boy won hands down. In the meantime though i'm just a mummys boy and I don't care what any1 thinks? She's a wee diamond!

I divorced my Ex because I felt it was the only way to have the life my children and I deserved; which wasn't to be the dead last in every possible situation/decision.

That's certainly a scenario I'm familiar with
as it was too common back in the '80s; teen behaviour.
What's a Woman got to do with anything? You are
referring to the "FYI"comment; which you must be.
I obviously didn't care enough for the info.
I didn't ask, reread the sentence.

Well if you insist, I'll even post it here for your convenience:
