Back to the topic: Racism.

Some will see it everywhere. Some look for it. If you expect it, believe it, and look for it, you WILL FIND IT.

It has been said that if the only tool you have is a hammer, then all of your problems will look like nails to you.

Some people cry "Racism!" because they know how to fight that kind of problem.

yes, some people, probably EVERYONE , can and does make bad calls..

can we focus on the issue of racism that exists though,,?

Can we refrain from begging the question?

My point is that some people see non-existing racism because racism is the only problem that they know how to fight.

Also, what good does it do to "focus on the issue of racism that exists" if only certain racism is criticized while other racism is given a pass?

someone else is free to start a thread on individual jane and john does who are bigots

Im interested in the INSTUTITONAL Racism that is implicitly ingrained in our history and our minds as American, which is PREDOMINANTLY the type that puts blacks and other minorities at the bottom of the totem pole,,,

To expand on my last comment... I had a liberal girlfriend who did a report on racism for college. Her conclusion was that "racism" could be found anywhere if one looked hard enough. Even if it didn't actually exists... So perhaps we need to ask ourselves from a philosophical standpoint; "Is looking for racism causing racism to exist where it otherwise wouldn't?" At least in part... And, "At what point are we finding things that aren't real?"

I only go on my own experience and white racism is pretty rampant especially in the area of where they are ignorant of their own racism that they were taught and perpetuate. Whites don't even realize they are racists quite often.

I speak on my races racism because I am in a position to be exposed to it by them.

well, i guess it's good there are people like you to tell them what they don't know...whoa

It seems her only experience has been in the realm of the ignorant.
She speaks very well for them too.

Inquiring minds want to know.......

Why is it that the ones who seem to protest racism are the very ones who seem to wish it remain an issue?

logical minds want to know,, how can you protest something without it first BEING an issue?

how does protesting equate to 'wishing' it be an issue?

Because it often is not an issue yet some want to make it one.

I'm not sure of the answer. Maybe Hitler or Goebels could have answered those questions.

yeah, and the bullet is 'not an issue' for the hunter, I doubt that makes the tiger feel like the odds against them are any better

Perhaps you should be arguing your case with others like yourself who want to make race an issue.....

perhaps the KKK or the NBPP?

Don't think you'll find many of that thought process here....unless you wish to create them for your own peace of mind..... but don't expect too many of us to side with your discontent.... we don't consider race an issue as you seem to.

thank you for your bonesty,,

I will leave the 'many of you' alone to gripe instead about the 'issue' of one man in the oval office,,,

we all can choose what is important to us, foolish of me to think anti black racism would be one of those 'issues' amongst those who are majority,, NOT BLACK,,,lol

well, at least not here, don't want to take away from the many colors, shapes and sizes of people who do think racism is a relevant 'issue' to be addressed and discussed

not a population that I am amongst,, obviously,,

I got it, a government that oppresses millions and affords them fewer freedoms than any other citizens, over a hundred years and the prolonged affect is not an issue

a man , who has a maximum of eight years to be a PART of government that is 'taking away freedoms' ,,BIG ISSUE

sorry if the issues that concern me just don't align with the majority here,, it is quite pointless apparently for me to try to hold any discussion about them

Perhaps if you truly thought racism was an issue you could lobby to do away with mandated minority privilege to the white house?
