Topic: Three black teens beat white boy on bus | |
---|---|
Perhaps some of it is environment and perception, for example one of the women I date is black. I took her to a little artist town and she said she was uncomfortable because she was the only black person she saw- I told her to turn around as the table behind us in the restaurant was a large black family. Later we were in Chinatown in Philly and she said she was uncomfortable because all the black guys were staring and whistling at her, I was the only white guy in area and I actually thought they were staring at me (afterall I am better looking than her). Actually I just wrote it off as people checking out something different in their environment. People need to comfortable in their own skin first. that's true, people will become a result of their personal experience and so will their perceptions of others be born,,, I am quite used to being the 'only',,,whatever,,,,and most black folks I know are too so that is an interesting experience you share,,, as usual |

yes, it serves us so well to pretend to see racism,, black folks who continue to discuss this issue are either just insane, delusional , or stupid,,, lol so even though black folks consistently hold unemployment rates nearly twice that of their white counterparts, it CANT BE RACISM we must just be lazier and even though blacks have about 5 percent the wealth of whites (on average), it CANT BE RACISM or the prolonged effect of INSTITUTIONAL RACISM of the past we must just be uninterested in acquiring wealth and even though students in communities with higher incomes score higher on their standardized tests than their impoverished counterparts it CANT BE RACISM/CLASSISM or UNEQUAL education those students must just be lazier and dumber and even though blacks are less likely to be using illicit drugs, they are more likely to be in jail for it, even though they are less likely to be found with drugs, they are more likely to be stopped and searched,,,, but that CANT BE RACISM that's just because,, well,,,,hmmm,,,,,, because Im a 'victim' with a 'race card',,,,,,yeah,, THATS IT I guess the lower income, education etc that you speak of has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that 70% of black children are born out of wedlock compared to less than 40% of Hispanic and less then 30% white. Not having a family unit that nurtures education, discipline and respect has nothing to do with the situation facing black folk. Yes its all about racism...wait I think I see Jesus in my Bagel! |

Interesting take on the issue. |

Interesting take on the issue. well, IM not focusing on only 20 year olds,,lol the adults in question would be a larger demographic of black people born in times with various out of wedlock rates,, not to mention, their parents marital status would be an unknown irrelevant issue to the employer they seek employment from or the cop who stops and frisks them etc,,etc,,etc,, so again the argument is irrelevant to the issues |

well, IM not focusing on only 20 year olds,,lol the adults in question would be a larger demographic of black people born in times with various out of wedlock rates,, so again the argument is irrelevant to the issues I think there in lies the issue msharmony..there is an old saying that if you say something enough times people will believe it. I think listening to the Jackson's and Sharptons long enough you will jump to the easy conclusion its all about racism. You say the issue is a "smokescreen" but I would contend that the break down of the black family unit has a lot more to do with the lower income levels, education and crime than racism does.. Just something your not willing to see or admit to. |

On a somewhat relayed topic- there was a statistical study demonstrating that the decrease in crime in the 1990's was due directly to Roe v. Wade in the early 1970s

I asked earlier for you to site one institutional form of racism as it exists today and still haven't seen an answer. Also in an earlier post you said the role models I mention rose up IN SPITE of the the racism. There are literally MILLIONS of successful Black people who are doctors, lawyers, astronauts, researchers and list goes on and on. I say they are successful in SPITE of the racists and bigots like Sharpton and Jackson. There are millions upon millions that have rejected the notion that the problems facing black America are all about racism and in-equality and rely on their own ambition and desire for a better life. Stop blaming racism on the black communities problems and get a life! |

DUDE! this is getting so exhausting, I am supplying information but the blinders are just working miraculously in this discussion apparently, I gave SEVERAL Examples of institutional racism in the Educational system, the Justice System and the Economic system 1st off there aren't even MILLIONS of doctors in the US , let alone Millions of black doctors,, the number is more like,,,30,000 and that's practicing doctors AND Students..lol http://www.nbcnews.com/id/25614966/ns/health-health_care/t/ama-apologizes-black-doctors-racism/ second off, since when did I say problems facing black America are ALL about racism and inequlity? stop reading more into the discussion and PAY ATTENTION, my life does not stop 'going on' just because I take part in this discussion,,, |

do the math again 1,000,000/5800= 172 exactly..I was kidding about the 5...you were saying there were only 30,000 doctors...if there was only 30000 doctors and 5800 hospitals that only leaves 5 per hospital..there are a lot more than 30000 doctors...also in private practice...don't know where you came up with 30,000 number |
