MA bad I thought this topic was under DATING & RELATIONSHIPS.. not RELIGION! And I thought that people here were free to answer the question in the thread's title any way that they wanted. Wasn't it you who told me in a thread in the religion forum that a certain thread was only for christians? |

they ARE Dave.. just as I did Well, if a person has a religious reason for opposing something, then that person should be able to say so without having to do so in a forum exclusively for religious discussions. By the way, when I answered the question in this thread's title, I did not say that others should believe what I believe. |

Uh, I said that a thread in the "Christian Singles" forum was for Christians, because that forum is for them in particular. This forum is an open forum for all audiences. |

Why is it that these types of discussions always dissolve to one singular property; religion?
When God dictates what people do we live no better off than if the government dictates what people do...If progress is forward, what are we doing? |

When God dictates what people do we live no better off than if the government dictates what people do...If progress is forward, what are we doing? authority is a fact of life, without it there is chaos we just will always have disagreements about where and how authority should manifest itself many people place authority in Gods word, or Gods design, or Natures design, or the constitution,, or whatever these discussions, from my perspective usually will have opinions from people with various ideas of where 'authority' lies,,, |

As though you, or anyone else here should dictate what your neighbor across the street does. |

As though you, or anyone else here should dictate what your neighbor across the street does. again, its not dictating what people should 'do' its supporting/not supporting what the GOVERNBMENT should do have whatever adult relationships we want,, and I have nothing to say state the government has to equalize that choice, advocate for that choice, push that choice on societys acceptance is another issue,,, |

same sex relations was not illegal,,and should not be the same sex marriage crowd want a) same sex behavior to be pushed as 'equal to' heterosexual behavior and/or b) to get the same legal perks as heterosexual marriages,,,, You silly....of course they want to be "equal"....how dare someone who has sex with someone dare to presume to be an equal human without each of our individual approval of who they hump?....the nerve! As far as the same legal perks....what? Like criminal taxation rates on secondary incomes? Automatically becoming responsible for a spouse's prior debts?.....Or being informed by law enforcement if they are killed? You guys may be right...God may want you kids to beat people to death with big stones to prove that y'all are right and the people you don't agree with are wrong. Then again....maybe you guys should worry about getting your own love life right before worrying about who other people choose to love. |

Why is it that these types of discussions always dissolve to one singular property; religion? This thread didn't start out like that. The thread's title asks a question. People of all beliefs (theistic, agnostic, atheistic) should be able to answer the question honestly without being picked on for having a particular belief. |

Why is it that these types of discussions always dissolve to one singular property; religion? This thread didn't start out like that. The thread's title asks a question. People of all beliefs (theistic, agnostic, atheistic) should be able to answer the question honestly without being picked on for having a particular belief. Sure, and people should be able to criticize said beliefs in a mature and adult-like discussion without the same. However, as has been shown in the past and no less will be again in the future once that criticism falls on religion they are being attacked; conversely those of us who's beliefs or ideas differ receiving similar criticism structure a rebuttal for people to take into account when discussing. All I'm asking is that you logically defend your stance, much like I do...Only you feel attacked, and I feel challenged. |
