its confusion to deny that growing up without a mother does not put children in special risk
or without a father ,, as much as it would be preposterous to assert that poverty has no ill effect on children just because not all end up poorly or unprotected sex is not risky because not all end up with disease or cigarette smoking isn't dangerous because smokers are happy and so many don't end up with cancer,,,, ,,,,,there is AMPLE evidence of the ill effect that growing up without a mother/father has on children in general ignoring it is societys prerogative,, but it doesn't disprove its relevance or truth |

Neither stance can be considered an absolute. As with all human characteristics there is a grey area. There is evidence for some having a natural predisposition to homosexual behaviour, and there is evidence for some adopting the behaviour from cultural point of view.
Nothing is set in stone and neither belief validates a 'right' or 'wrong' position, if that is even applicable. |

Also, Msharmony. When racial equal rights acts passed, a lot of white folks had the same kind of concern (that you have towards gays) about renting homes in their neighborhood to black folks. They need homes, they need jobs. They need to be loved and accepted into society too. We are all humans after all. What people don't understand is that a gay person is born that way. Id say what people will debate is whether people are 'born that way' it isn't a matter of understanding that they are, because no such t hing has been proven for us to 'understand' Seriously? You think it has not been proven from evidence? You need to look again. Did you 'choose' to be attracted to men instead of women? If, for some reason you decided you did not like men and you wanted to change, could you choose to be gay? But that is where the problem lies. People who believe it is a choice. People who believe that people can choose not to be gay. what has my stance on marriage have to do with whether people of any particular 'preference' have a home, or can find employment, or can love like everyone else? Okay, you asked. Your fear is that because the Federal government decided to extend benefits to legally married gay couples that now you will be "forced" to include (or accept into your neighborhood) "those engaged in homosexual lifestyle" (gays) if you were to open a home for couples or families. You would rather feel that you can say NO to gay couples. In other words, if you were a landlord, you believe you will be forced to rent to gay couples. Your words: "If I open a home for couples, or families. I would be FORCED to also include those engaged in the homosexual lifestyle,, that's being FORCED to accept behaviors of others,,, " IF if if if if... fears fears fears fears. This is so absurd. Relax people geeeze. You can still be prejudice against gays and sinners all you want. Nobody is going to force you to understand or accept them. You can keep on being afraid, condemning others, and hating gays all you want. Laws can't stop prejudice. Blacks of all people should know that. no it hasn't been proven that people are 'born' that way people assume it for reasons like 'why would they choose it?' that's not proof that they don't and not all choices start with one moment or one day on a calendar, we come to choices and preferences most often through a series of experiences and events in our lives and my being BLACK isn't an activity, so its irrelevant to the discussion my being BLACK is what someone else decide when they look at me, regardless of anything I do my being 'black' was written and documented the moment I Was born my sexual 'preference is something I get to profess to others ,,,,there is no comparison as to the rest, I have many concerns that I have posted which pertain to the CULTURE And the SOCIETY in the long run,, my example of being 'forced' had to do with the question asked to give a specific example,,,,  |
