Topic: Michael Vicks plea bargain | |
---|---|
may not be realistic but i was even thinking that IF no one else wanted him at QB he may try another position just to get back in. i'm almost certain though that he will QB for an NFL team when he gets out.
about the concurrent suspension, i just heard that the other day when the commissioner wanted arthur blank to hold off on any team decisions regarding vick till after he was sentenced. |

they have been all over the news and espn redmond. i don't make stuff up man. the quotes that were used were taken from previous statements that vick had made. he may not go to jail but he has admitted at other times about the gambling and the deaths of a group of dogs.

just read the pdf of the commish statement today about the indefinite suspension. Since it is an indefinite suspension...I suppose they will run concurrently...lol....been trying to find a pdf of Vick's statement of facts to the court but have not found it yet

if you go to espn.com and read the article by howard byant it tells a little about it.

Well if he admitted it he would have been charged with it.
Anyway moving on to brighter days. |

I fea that he is walking on thin ice with the judge he has. From the quotes I have seen from the plea filing, he is trying to dance around the statements the others have submitted in their pleas. Could upset the judge if he comes off like it was no big deal to him. Admits providing all the money for the operation and betting on the dogs, though
whoops...did not mean to leave the interpretation that he bet on the dogs...admitted providing the money to the others to bet, and received no share of the winnings. That sounds like bs to me...lol

Admitted but not charged means no big deal?
he was charged man. what do you think a plea deal is, it's essentially a guilty plea.
the only thing left is for the judge to sentence him. it's done.
all that goes with the charge of conspiracy to aid and abet...his plea really danced around the issues, from the quotes I have seen
he wasn,t charged with the lion,s share of the allegations.
he plead to about 5 years and 250K worth of charges. He has a pretty tough judge to deal with. The commish authorized the Falcons to do whatever they want with him...including going after his bonuses and any other action they want...he is one cut dude...Blank will do whatever it takes to get the PETAA picketers away from Home Depot
Like I posted earlier..I hope he gets the same penalty that any one of us would get for the same charges..no more and no less

You worry to much.
lol who worries too much?
relax. these things work themselves out.
no one is worried redmond.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote:
"Your admitted conduct was not only illegal, but also cruel and reprehensible. Your team, the NFL, and NFL fans have all been hurt by your actions. … Your plea agreement and the plea agreements of your co-defendants also demonstrate your significant involvement in illegal gambling. Even if you personally did not place bets, as you contend, your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL Player Contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player." In the letter Goodell also states that he will review the status of Vick's suspension once the legal proceedings against him have concluded. The commissioner goes on to advise Vick that the Atlanta Falcons "are now free to assert any claims or remedies available to them under the Collective Bargaining Agreement or your NFL Player Contract." |

summary of facts in court documents obtained by ABC News.
Purses for dogfighting matches, which took place on the property as well as in other locations, ranged from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars, most of which was gambling money provided by Vick, according to the documents. Vick did not, however, place side bets on any of the fights or receive any of the proceeds from purses won by Bad News Kennels. Vick admits in the documents that in April of this year, he was involved in the killing of six to eight dogs that did not perform well during "testing" sessions at the Moonlight Road property. The dogs were "killed by various methods, including hanging and drowning." |
