My theory is that jerks just think that they are nice guys. Also that guys try to act nice when they are trying to get a girlfriend but when they get one she will say that he's become a jerk.

Self proclaimed "nice guys" don't always turn out to be nice guys. I have to wonder why some guys are obsessed with wanting to be nice guys.
