I personally think a photo is desireable if someone wants to be considered seriously for dateing or forum posts but I don't see it should be mandatory.
I don't see how whineing that you don't like how a site is formatted or how some users actually use the site in open forums is productive except it seems to get a lot of "mileage" for the OP. |

I can understand the need for privacy in some cases.
But that still doesn't excuse someone for at least not supplying one to a person they wish to get to know. ESPECIALLY.... if it was their pic that originally interested you in the 1st place! I know a person is more than their features... I just don't like surprises. |

I was on another dating site years ago where I talked to guys with no photos. If they were interested in me they they would attach pictures of themselves to the email on the dating site. So, I knew what they looked like and they kept their privacy to others. |

As much as i do like to see a photo of the person i communicate with I can understand why some folks are reluctant to expose themselves I personally have had my REAL photos taken,made into TROLL personas And then rubbed in my face like a dirty diaper ! Furthermore my REAL name,address and phone number publicized In their effort to bring me harm I told them thanks for the free publicity ! Since i do write hehehe... {On a non moderated site i won't bother to mention} Thus the need for moderators ...Thank you folks! I think the simple answer is... if it bothers you so much when someone does not have a photo .... JUST DON'T LOOK !  JMHO and Amen to that! Thank you for posting your reasons; you are not alone! |

THIS DATING SITE SHOULD REQUIRE REAL PHOTOS There is simply no point in making rules that cannot be enforced. There is no way to verify a picture's authenticity. What IS posted often provides clues, no matter what they put up. If they need to hide behind something, you can only guess at their privacy reasons. Mingle gives you the choice of looking ONLY at those with photos if you wish. But I certainly would never rely on a photo to get my heart a-thumping. |

The bottom line is that a room full of people wearing hockey masks is not going to attract as many people as a room full of normal people happy with and actually revealing themselves. The way of this site is the main reason why a grand total of six women in my region use it.
Grow up and show yourselves... stop being so cynical. If you're that afraid, just stay home and off the internet. |

Either there are people out there who trust the pictureless people, or those people don't really want to meet anyone anyway. I suspect it's a bit of both. Not sure why someone would use a site like this if they don't want to meet others, but stranger things have happened.

Why does this surprise people? Why do people get their panties in a twist over it? If you don't want to show your photo for whatever reason, don't. But why get bent out of shape if someone asks about it? |

The photo is me. I have no objection to others using an avatar in fact it makes the site more interesting, certainly better than no photo at all in my opinion.
However, I suggest more complete body shot photos would be better, ladies in their swimwear would be appropriate for those seriously seeking a date, just a thought. |

 TOUGH NOOGIES!!!!!!  We met on this site and most of the people in this thread we consider more like family than just friends we have never met in person....and some we just stalk for the heck of it! oh and teebee, you really do have a beautiful smile!!
