On your deathbed, looking back at your life, do you want to have regrets? What would define a successful life as?

If I enter my last sleep with a clear conscience, that will be success for me,,,

There are things that I'm not proud of, but regret??? No. Can't change the past. You can only (hopefully) learn from it. No use crying over spilled milk IMO

To me a successful life is knowing you made mistakes in life, owning it and learning from it and doing the best you could

What would define a successful life as?

As having loved wholeheartedly, and having
been loved in return.

Hopefully, if I get there it's due to cancer and I'm so high I could careless.

I have been a fortunate man.
I have raised two children into responsible, respectful and successful adults who have blessed me with 5 wonderful grandchildren.
As they stand over me, I know most will forget my faults when they talk about my Legacy!!!

Wouldn't actually matter....I would be dead in a few minutes ....so I would roll with it.

Regrets? Some, but since I can't change those things at least I hope I've learned from them.....

As far as successful life. Just hope those around me will think back and remember many good times that is all that matters.Knowing I helped make them smile while I was here... bigsmile

Since you never really know when you are going to die, the deathbed issue is a non-issue.

Also, isn't success defined as achieving a goal?

In this sense, nobody has a successful life, for the goal of life, like every other task that you set out for yourself to do, is to finish it, and your life therefore is only successful when you reach the goal, which is its end.

So to have a successful life is to die at the end of it, and not any time sooner, and defintely not any time later.

But to achieve that success, you must die, so is it really the success of your life? Yes, but you can't feel it, since you are dead by defintion, whenever your goal is reached.

If you can't feel being successful, is it really success when you achieve the goal? Is the million dollar question.

"Those who have eyes, see it, and those who have ears, hear it."

Hm. You are startign to turn (roll) even before you are buried. I wonder what inheritage you insist on your progeny to do, so that they succeed in making you turn in your grave even before they put you in you grave.

Of course I would have regrets. Everybody does. Projects left undone, or never started.
Wrong turns taken. Words said or held back.

A successful life is knowing you've done the best you could do with what you had.

more thelma and louise. i've got two great kids, two amazing
grandbaby sunshines, already enjoying success.

I would want to know I had many friends, great golden moments to think back on, and people at my side who would miss me when I was gone.
