what would you do if a stranger, out of the blue, handed you a closed briefcase (not locked), told you there was over 5 million dollars in it and asked you to hold onto it for a minute, but never came back for it?

Sounds like trouble.
I think I would park it at some lawyer's office until it could be checked out. |

Contact a police officer (or police station) and report what happened, because there is something wrong with the money.

I've ALWAYS handed in anything I found. And so, not that I wouldn't be tempted Id still hand the briefcase in. One would have no luck for keeping things that belongs to another. But, that's just me. |

I'd first make sure it was real and there were no tracking devices. Then I would look up the bills to make sure they were legit and not reported stolen or anything, then I would move to Australia and live happily ever after. |

One time, I found a money bag with a thousand euro in it at a night club in the toilets. We were the first few people in their that night so the bar staff hadn't set up just yet (it was the float for the cash register). I had a friend wait with the money cause it was so heavy (it was coins) while I went to tell one of the security. Everyone thought I was NUTS for handing it in, but still Id die if I lost something and the person who found it didn't give it back. It's the right thing to do. |

I couldn't live with myself either.. I don't think anyone likes loosing things.. esPECIALly money.. as we all know it does NOT grow on trees! I'm not one for looking over my shoulder.. and it just wouldn't feel right! but I would still open it.. just out of curiosity! |

I would give the briefcase to the nearest person, tell them it contained 5 million dollars and ask them to hold on to it for 5 minutes and not look back.
