c) He is a mysoped. (which would be supported by the torture / murder porn he had)

Nope nothing at all. Their is a Offender's Register as far as I am aware, but from what I've seen online the offender's name is removed after something like 7 years, I'm not too sure but it's something like that. We have no public records or access to any sort of confidential criminal records. The only thing you can do is go to the cops with any queries or worries, but even at that they still have a code of confidentiality and can't disclose any information.

I guess it's just completely different over here. An Irish person wouldn't think twice about something like that when buying a house. We would have a certain number of ''cases like this'' but it's a rare thing to happen. We may see it the odd time on the daily news or in the news paper.

If he really wanted to stay away from mothers with children, he would have stated "I'm a convicted sexual predator towards children"... in an instant, he would have warned mothers who befriended him.... It would have shown some sort of reform. Kinda


I'm spiritual, but people like this have forfeited their right to live among us. We (In Canada) have just went through a very public and disturbing trial of 2 sickos last week... My nerves are raw, sympathy?? NONE!!!!

I was told about this situation by a couple of people, and this now makes the second person on this site who was not who they alleged to be. I read the news story as well. It really shows you the depth that people will go to in order to gain acceptance and try to deny who they truly are.

Not at all. It was a man I met on here, years ago. He alleged he was in recovery, sober and very sure of himself. We had a brief romance. He died shortly after I found out he lied about most everything he told me. His death was alcohol related.

What sickens me was the I had Lex's phone number and I had texted with him over the years.

Folks, please do not rely on the sex offender sites. They are not reliable and contain only a small portion of those convicted of sexually oriented offenders. They also do not have any information on the people who haven't been caught or are in hiding. Those are the dangerous people. I thought I read a post about sex offenders having high recidivism rates. That is not true.

Nope, I typed very carefully. If you look at recidivism rates for opportunistic crimes they are considerably higher. Burglary, Robbery, drug cases, etc. I work in the court system, so I'm not naive.

When convicted sex offenders get charged with a new crime, it is usually for failure to register or failure to verify an address.

It is usually NOT for a new sexual offense.

It's a very common misconception. The registration laws make it very difficult to even found housing, work, or services. This often leads to the charges for failure to register or for people to do what Lex did. Now, I'm not saying sexual offenders don't commit crimes against children again, but the fact is recidivism rates from them are not as high as other crimes. The dangerous offenders are those that haven't gotten caught, or got away with it.

Interesting....Since you work in the legal system and seem to be familiar with this type of crime, how do you feel about the registration laws?....It sounds like you might consider them counter productive in terms of released sex offenders successfully re entering main stream...On the other side of that coin, as a parent, a grandmother, an aunt, and a woman I feel I have a right to know if one is living in close proximity to my home, playgrounds, schools, etc...
