Topic: frist date? | |

Would you go for a drive up into the mountains (about 30-45 minutes away) With someone you've only talked to online/texted ? The "date" would have been after dark and he also mentioned he might buy some wine to drink.
I politely declined and suggested something more public for our first meeting. What would you have done? |

I think you did the right thing, it all sounds a little too isolationist for me.... Better to be safe, and all that.... |

I'd have suggested something more public. Driving off into the mountains with a complete stranger doesn't sound like a good idea.

I would if I was in a horror movie. |

Lol.:)that's a setting for a scary movie.. Rule numero uno: always meet your blind date in a public area with lots of people as shield..

My thoughts exactly. its been a while since I dated anyone but I'm not gonna put myself in an uncomfortable situation.

I would have done exactly the same as you. Until there is a reasonable amount of trust, always meet in public places and always trust your instincts. |

the fact that your comfort level was not even factored in
to this idea would be a red flag for me. you did the right thing! :) |

I think I would definitely do the same as what you did, Penny. Whatever he was planning makes him sound like a total creep. Did he even realise that? Some men think women want sex on a first date. Maybe some do, but that would have me running FROM him. It sounds slightly fishy

You made a good call. Don't go anywhere you can't get yourself home from, and you can also let someone know where you are going, so that if you don't check in, someone's looking for you!
Public places - all good. :) |

I'm thinking you might have ended up with your picture on a milk carton. "No", was a good answer.
