Do you use this site or similar sites to actually meet people, or to just pass the time? If you find people you get along well with, either as friends or more, do you put the effort into actually meeting them in person?

I have been here two years and have yet to meet anyone in person.

Seems many here want an ideal match really fast without having to go thru any effort to really get to know someone.

Friends keep telling me that I'll get better results on pay sites...but I sort of doubt that.

Yes I have several times and across the country no less. I've been to Dallas/ Fort Worth and have met a girlfriend from here. I've also met a male friend on this site from British Columbia in Vegas for a week and we had a great time. In three weeks I'm going to Georgia to meet someone that I hope will result in a relationship after talking for several months.

So, my answer is yes. If nothing else you get to enjoy travel to a new location and possibly make a connection. If not, you've probably made a friend for life. It's a win-win situation as far as I see it.

I've also helped plan an event in Michigan and met some people from this site. Everyone had a great time. I like meeting people that I find interesting.

I also like to get out and meet people when I can. This site, I mainly meet people for friendship, as everyone is pretty spread out. I met a friend from here over the weekend, which was fun. On another site, there are more locals, so I use that for dating.

I did the same thing. I've made lots of great friends here and it's really what I use this site for. Not on any other sites for dating right now-but have used them in the past.

I'm happy it works well for you! Unfortunately for me, there are very, very few active locals. So if I were to just message men in my area, this site wouldn't do much for me. It works in different ways for different people, though.

It's not unique to Mingle there are so many scammers out there that like to take advantage of lonely men. It's extremely hard to tell the real women from the fake ones. Women get bombarded by creepy pervs, in the same fashion men get bombarded with fake women.

i don't plan on meeting anyone from this site ever.
unless someone plans on letting me touch their beard.

I have met several from here. Met my best friend on here the first week I was here. I see her every week. I have had fun meeting folks from here. Hopefully there will be other chances.....

How is it extremely hard to tell real women from scammers? What do they have in common that makes it so difficult?
