Topic: Should men be "manly"?

There has actually been research on that sorta stuff. I took my kid to the toystore and he picked a dollhouse once. I was so excited. When we got home he took out the beds and put the little people in them and proceeded to 'drive' them around as if they were cars, then he 'parked' them back in the dollhouse. WEll I wound up raising a tomgirl, not a tomboy. Little subtle differences.

I will tell you this: I was a tomboy. Not because my parents tried to get me interested in boy things. Not because they tried to keep me away from girl things. I was a tomboy because I like doing things that boys liked to do. If my mother made me wear a dress, that just meant I would be playing kickball in the street ...in a dress. My daughter still climbed trees in dresses, she liked dresses. She like boys stuff and girls stuff. Including catching lizards with me.

I was trying to instill in her she could do anything or be anything she wanted. She's been happily married for 7 years so I guess I succeeded?
