anyone else notice that some people on here, and other places think that average weight means two or less fat rolls, and a few extra pounds means "i cant see my feet". if you are not able to be honest with yourself, then how can you expect anyone to take you seriously?

I agree, it's ********. There just setting themselves up for rejection. And for the record I'm not one of those people. I have openly posted on my profile that I have a few extra pounds. But I'm still gorgeous ;)

the person I was seeing says I should change mine because it says a few extra pounds but I feel I do have a few extra pounds by CA standards. Kate Moss has a few extra pounds by California standards. |

the person I was seeing says I should change mine because it says a few extra pounds but I feel I do have a few extra pounds by CA standards. That's so true! CA culture, NY city culture, AL culture, WI culture are all so very different. A 'few' is supposed to be a small number. Its the smallest category in which there is any extra at all. Anyway, the whole scheme is subjective. I'm not sure you can say anyone is lying, they may just have a completely different subjective interpretation of both "extra" and "few". Hell, what is "average" in our culture is what I would consider "overweight" - from an overall health perspective, not an aesthetics perspective. Heavy women can be beautiful. |

Thank you...I feel less than an elephant now. |

Well we had this discussion a while back here on Mingles and most people said 10 pounds overweight is average. For me personally, 5 pounds overweight would make me from fit to overweight but that is just for my body as I am hard on myself supposedly. I think 10 pounds is a fair for average though. |

Haven't you made threads whining about fat women before? If you're that worried about how fat someone is, look at their pictures. If they are not attractive to you, move on. Simple. |

A picture is worth a thousand words. Exactly. I really don't pay attention to what body type someone says they have. I look at the pictures, as it tells much more. |

I just checked and yes he did make a thread called "just a few extra pounds". That must have been the one I was thinking about. Anyways; he deactivated his account so guess the weight problem really bothers him. Oh well, its his loss. |

Oh no. I have never seen my feet. |

stating facts is complaining? You just have a history of complaining about women's weight. Why not just ask for clear pictures if that's what you're worried about? If they're too fat for you, move onto someone skinnier. |

Eat oat meal for breakfast, seriously. A spoon of peanut butter jazzes it up a little.
