Strong evidence of 'lurkers'...as none of these admirers (?) were recognised by us.

...Or of our great celebrity status in the forums?

Exactly. Oh well...not everyone can have the awesome, outgoing personalities that we have.

If average = overweight, then we need more options for people who are under/almost underweight!

Thin or skinny would cover that. Though, I guess slender means the same thing.

as i should have indicated in my first post, its not about the weight, its about denying it. starting out with a bio that is dishonest is not a good way to convince someone that you are a good person. when the pics dont match what you call yourself, why would i pursue you any further? just meant to be a FYI.

Pictures cover what you're talking about. I could see this complaint if there were nothing more than face pictures, I guess. But again, if you are incredibly worried about how much someone weighs, ask for more pictures. If they refuse to show them to you, move on. Pictures are going to tell you much more than a single word describing body size.

anyone else notice that some people on here, and other places think that average weight means two or less fat rolls, and a few extra pounds means "i cant see my feet". if you are not able to be honest with yourself, then how can you expect anyone to take you seriously?

Well we had this discussion a while back here on Mingles and most people said 10 pounds overweight is average. For me personally, 5 pounds overweight would make me from fit to overweight but that is just for my body as I am hard on myself supposedly. I think 10 pounds is a fair for average though.

See this is where we disagree. I think Average means in your average weight range. If you are over that weight range then how far over depends on the classification. I would say 10 pounds over weight is a few extra pounds as it really isn't that much is it? Thus a few.

Yeah, I think I meant to say the same thing that 10 pounds is a few extra pounds; which is average. As for my weight range; I never go by that as I weight lift. I just know what weight I need to be and like to keep within five pounds of where I should be.

You look great from where i am standing.......what's a few pounds between friendsdrinker

Thanks I appreciate that. I am very much into keeping myself fit.

You are welcome flowerforyou

Not only fit but very attractive and even more so I believe you to be an honest person.

(I go weak in the presence of Beauty)

Aww; you are so kind. Thank you for the compliments. You are making me blush. blushing

I wanna focus on the guys for a second here. Cause, see...in our options of weight, we do not have "fluffy" either. And I for one am appalled by this. We need a revolution here! Viva La Fluffy Revolution!!!

But if average were to mean overweight, those terms would have to be used to describe average. Which underweight isn't.

There's average, and then there is average...

average Australia is 5'6 and about 8 1/2...to 9 stone...umm..110/120 pounds for a woman...or a size 10 dress size...

for a man 5'10 and about 11 stone...

that's the average size and weight of a HEALTHY Australian....then there is average for borderline obesity...

I'm 5'9 and currently 105 pounds...so am in my eyes average...although on the skinny arsed side...

the options are so limited here..

Something tells me skinny isn't going to mean average.

I have so many pictures that are very recent & look exactly like me that now I am worried that someone will stop me in KMart and say "Hey, aren't you Sweetesgirl?"laugh

 That happened to me when I was downtown at the post office. It is why my 'main' is dogs playing poker.
laugh Oh NO!

I guess worse could happen but I can't imagine being in line at the PO and having someone be that boldnoway

I think youre right. At the same time I wonder about this complaining and the statement that you are 'upbeat and positive and U BE the same'. Maybe they are being upbeat and positive about their weight. Its a subjective area that doesnt provide criteria for self diagnoses.
Maybe it would help if you list a weight/height/bmi preference instead. That would make more sense to me since youre looking for 'eye candy' and that is undefined. You also list 'relationship' but go on to say you want 'activity partner'. I really think you should consider your own honesty before complaining about other people.

I think there is a difference between being upbeat and lying. Just my opinion.

The problem is when you use the search function and have to search through more profiles than you should have to. Also for the people that are overweight but not super overweight, there are angles you can use to hide some of your weight. Sometimes they just have face pics and don't have a "fat" face.

Mostly though its the search function that annoys me. You get like 100 instead of 30.

Huh. I've never once searched for people by body type. If I've ever searched for people, it has been by location. And even then, it's been simple enough to look through main pictures to see who I may be attracted to.

As for just fact pictures, ask for a full body picture if you're that worried about what they look like.

I thought you had a girlfriend? If so, why does the search function bother you? laugh

I haven't had a gf all my life. Maybe you don't search for people based on body type, but other's do. That is why it is an option in the advanced search.

Unfortunately, things don't always work perfectly. We don't always get what we're looking for instantly. Everyone's idea of what single word to use to describe themselves is going to be different. You may have to do a little work and actually look at pictures, but aren't you going to do that anyway when you look at a profile?

OMG...may be that's true.

Due to changed habits of eating & due to automation everywhere many people are gaining weights.

Slimming centers are flourishing.

In countries like somalia childrens & old guys are dying of hunger.

I understand what you are saying. And when someone who maybe I think is a few extra pounds puts average I don't think much of it. I am more annoyed when they are very overweight and put average. I mean own your self you know? Be honest. I mean I will admit that I am thin but not in that great of shape. ( a fact that I have been remedying the past 6 months with weight lifting)

I just want to ask what are people expecting to get out of this stuff if they are going to lie to all of us before we even meet them. If relationships are built on trust and honesty how can you go to a dating site looking for a relationship but be dishonest?

Its just a principle thing ya know?

And I just think pictures speak louder than words. Like I said, I rarely even pay attention to the one word they chose to describe their body. If they have pictures that show what they look like, that's fine with me. If they don't, I'm going to move on anyway.

I think it has a lot to do with processed foods and wrong information when it comes to nutrition. Like the food pyramid saying the most food should come from grains. That is wrong. Grains were not even part of the human diet before the agricultural revolution. Then people think they should eat low fat, which is wrong again. You ever notice how its typically heavier people who buy low fat stuff? Fat doesn't make you fat. In fact fat helps you burn fat. It is essential to the process.

its a weightlifting problem. How many pounds of food do we shovel into our mouths. To recap though, its not about the weight (as much) as it is about honesty.... or denying the facts.... Do I think that overweight is unhealthy... yes. Would I date someone who is heavy? Sure if i enjoyed thier company. Do I believe that if a person cares about themselves they would take care of themselves? yes. Do I fight the battle of the bulge? yes.... and i win because i want to live as long as possible. DO I believe that if you show me someone heavy, I can show you someone whose *** is couch shaped? yes. CASE IN POINT.... go to any construction site, farm, or anywhere where people do hard manual labor.. no heavies in sight.
