Back in high school speech class, one of our assignments was to choose a children's book and read it to the class as if we were reading to children. Of course, we all chose some of our favorite books from our childhood.

What were your favorites?

I used to read all of those books!

They were the best :-)
I also crawled up into my grandparents
attic and found the complete set by
Horatio Alger Jr. and read them over
and over.
I was so young they helped set my
sense of fairness and the work ethic.

Hardy Boys

Dr Seuss

The Book of Giant Stories(one story creeped me out as a kid, I wore glasses so when one of the giants had to wear glasses and it made everything bigger than him(like insects) it freaked me out)

Choose Your Own Adventures series, and Dungeons & Dragons Endless Quests which were like the Choose Your Own Adventures.

How to Eat Fried Worms

The Little Prince

I was also getting into Stephen King, and one of my sister's had a bunch of horror novelizations so I was reading those(my favorite was the one for Squirm)

The Paddington Bear books.
