As a guy, I'm curious about women and why they do certain things.

Such as:

When complimented on her clothes by another woman, they feel the need to go into a backstory about how they obtained said clothing and the deal they got on them.

They go to the bathroom in small groups after complaining the night before about how long the lines are to the bathroom.

They go shopping for a jacked, are gone for 6 hours, and come back with a pair of shoes, two belts, a purse, and no jacket.

My male brain is of course completely unable to rationalize any of this using science, mathematics, physics, or any type of known logic. Ladies, can you please shed some light on this?

1. I just say thanks for the compliment.

2. If the lines are long, having someone (1 other person) to talk to while waiting helps pass the time!

3. I'm not much of a shopper unless I really need something.

I don't think I can help but you must have some ideas yourself since you know these women and we don't.

I can't stand it when people talk about unrelated subjects and go on and on, but this is not so much a gender related issue. I noticed people do that when they can't stand silence or are nervous.

1. Women LOVE a good deal, and are usually proud when they get one. Also its so they can stop coveting yours.
2. Misery loves company, they can talk about whats going on on the date/ whatever.
3.See #1. Most women love a good deal, If the can't find the item they came after at least they got something for he effort.
Think going fishing and NOT catching anything-- you may have been trying for bass. Instead you brought home Catfish.

when i get a compliment i just blush and say thanks.

I dont ask anyone to come to the bathroom with me... the only time i go in groups, is when we drove a while to get where ever we were going...

i HATE shopping... if i go for a jacket, i get a jacket, pay and leave

so yeah..... lol

Humm have been guilty of the first at times if I got it at a hell of a bargin...

They normally go to talk in private .....myself normally go out by myself and I don't need anyone to hold my hand nor is there anything I can't or want say in front of others.

As far as the clothes just because you go to get one thing does not mean you will find it... Myself normally if I go for something and it is not there then I will come back empty handed... Ohh and it would never take me 6 hours to give up for I'm not a shopper. I'm one I know where I'm going and what I want get in and out..

Maybe that helps a bit but most of it blows my mind as well...

Guess like when guys go out to have a beer and can't seem to find the way out till 5-8 hours later

I hate shopping, I go with what I Want in mind, I Get it, and I leave.

Ok -we like to share good bargains to give our friends ideas where to go, and compliment our favorite stores - Macy's for example, I will love more than I love my sister or her lame brained insane dog OR my ex boyfreind

We go to shop with an idea of what kind of jacket we want, and if it's not on sale at a good enough price - but the belts & shoes are - we get those because we need them anyway and we will get the jacket later once the price is reduced or another store has it at a better price - you can be sure that we looked for it in at least 6 or 7 places while we were at the mall

as for the bathroom...when ya gotta go ya gotta go - so we see a freind there and talk - sheesh it's the one place we can go to talk where some GUY won;t overhear us and ask a bunch questions about our habits....

You can't rationalize women? And men are rational? Yeah right. I have never figured out why when a man gets older that he acts more childish than when he was younger. Why he has to constantly flip channels when commericals are on so you miss part of the show you are watching. Why he takes a newspaper into the bathroom and occupies it longer than a woman putting on make up. Why he thinks burping and farting are funny or a cool thing to do. Or why its so hard to wash his hands after using the bathoom. Or why men are proud of their beer gut because its bought and paid for. Men are not rational.

I'm wondering why women complain there's no good men but when they get one, they either walk all over him or leave him cause he's boring?

Oh these are all easy questions..

1. If someone compliments you what else can you say, its not like you can sit there and say oh yes i am just stunning, so you just say where you got it and blah blah blah , whatever else hapens to pop intoyou head at the time..

2. I never go to the toilet alone, who can i talk to if i did that, nope I always take someone..

3.. Hmm and the shopping well sometimes you go shopping for something and you forget what it was so you might as well get the other things that you forgot the time before..

erkdabeast..I think that the problem is that normally the good men end up with women who take advantage of them and its the same with the good women..

But when you finally find a good man if you are are a good women , you appreciate what you have and never let it go

If women are walking all over you, it's because you're letting them .

Or, some men are just very indecisive and let women make all the decisions. Then complain about it later. I went on a date with a guy once who refused to make plans, so I did it. He asked me out again and I told him to let me know what he wanted to do. He just assumed I would do it and never did. We didn't go out a second time.

I'll probably get hit over the head by both genders for saying this, but I don't like it when these forums turn in to generalizations and become men against women and women against men.

It's more of trying to understand some of the things they do, men on the other hand, are very simple creatures. We have a pretty linear way of thinking and it's pretty easy to figure us out.

Now of course there are exceptions to every rule and these are just broad generalizations. I shall create another thread later today to explain to you ladies how you can understand men.

And thanks for the formula, it helps a lot.

I really don't think we need additional broad generalizations. It may be more useful to talk about and share individual perspectives and experiences.

Ah, but even just from reading these forums, I'm sure you can see from women that men are often doing things we don't understand as well. You guys are not quite as simple as you claim to me.

It's really not a men vs women thing, though. Some women are difficult to understand, just as some men are. Some women are easy to understand, just as some men are.
