Topic: What Grabs Your Attention In That Photo? | |

For me, a woman with long curly hair - mostly blonds. Don't know why. Someone with dark eyes, especially brown eyes. Most of the time it's seeing a woman in a fairly long skirt or dress. Or in a bit more relaxed attire.
I guess I'm old fashion. |

Ears, if she's got nice ears I'm hooked.

Ears, if she's got nice ears I'm hooked. Hey big guy.... |

ears? What about ears? And for me, it's an award winning smile, and if they are fully clothed it catches my attention.

beauty, plain and simple...

1. One person in the pic. There's a tendency, in multiple-person pics, for them to never let you know which one the profile actually belongs to.
2. No MySpace-style bathroom mirror pics. Especially with the toilet visible and various form of detritus in the aforementioned toilet. 3. No cleavage shots or "Hey, the camera can see right down my shirt!" pics. Reeks of desperation. And I'm not a boob guy. 4. No wedding dress pics. This triggers my gag reflex. 5. No weird angles. 6. No far-far-away shots, where you can't tell if you're looking at a person or a tool shed. 7. Glasses are a plus. |

I am kind of up in the air on this one.
I had ideas about what I wanted. They kept me single for a long damned time. When I finally let go of the things I thought I wanted and saw what the world has to offer...I am happier now than I thought I could be. My woman is nothing like the mute polynesian pygmy chick with a pixie bob and a french accent that I envisioned for years. The reality that I never expected is way better than the years of looking for something that was never there. |

There isn't one specific thing I look for in a picture. It will depend on each picture.

What Grabs Your Attention In That Photo? Nothing. The photo will never do it. The words, maybe. About the best I can do with a photo is say to myself, well, that isn't too horrid :-) |

Ears, if she's got nice ears I'm hooked. Ok motown hold on!! Found a few women for ya If you can find the model they used for this one, you'd be set. "Look into my ears and tell me you love me" I think this is the winner-- personally |

I have to say, as far as the profiles go, I tend to look more at what the profile says, then what the photos show. As far as photos, I like something that shows the person's sense of humor or personality. I also have to agree with some of Lex's input. I don't mind weird angles, as long as there are some normal ones too, (and obviously, cleavage shots aren't gonna do a whole lot for me) but I can agree with just about everything else he said.

the overall package.. looks, brains, personality, etc.

Not gonna lie. I stare at the photos (I read though too!). I like a good genuine smile. If you're trying to intimidate me/the camera it's not going to work. I'm going to click right past you. Shirtless pics are out, I care not how often you're at the gym, if you're proud of your body, your confidence and security will show through-- even if your shirt remains on. Shocking, I know.
So, really, it's easy: I like a good, honest, genuine smile. No props (guns in your profile picture? Really? Think that through a bit longer...), not too much skin. Humility and security is way sexy. I'm not picky physically. Just take care of yourself (i.e. regular showers, not obese, etc), and be happy. |

Eyes and her smile are usually the first two things I notice in a photo.

I can tell you what I don’t look for. I get immediately turned off by boring themes that is supposed to make a point. This could be:
a) series of activity shots like various sports = Look at me how active and exciting I am. b) shots of other other women = Let me prove to you that I am still a good catch. c) pics of himself exercising or shirtless pictures = I love my body. Do you? d) series of different outfits (suit, casual, tight biker outfit etc.) = I am every man. e) poses = I am photogenic f) series of fake pictures of a model = When it’s time to meet I’ll figure something out g) random objects and images = ??? What I do look for is the essence of the person in the picture. What ever it is he is doing (laughing, thinking, talking..., self-confident, shy, funny...) doesn’t matter. His human, unpretentious, humble, and sincere reflection is what attracts me to him. |
