Hard to say. Ask your church. Depends on the religion. But my own personal feeling is that God would prefer that you did that versus jumping every woman you saw. If you do it often enough, she may no longer be "new" in your eyes and you may tire of her and get over it. I really don't think God expected you to "suffer" by avoiding it and sometimes it's probably just not that easy for guys to chuck certain things out of their minds, no matter how hard they try.

So people can't remain abstinent? Where's the self control in that? Why suck a hyp on sexual intercourse that it HAS to be done?

Why should they remain abstinent?

There are many reasons, but for a short answer it would rid the world of a ton of STD's, and is against God's will.

That is where STD's come from, multiple sex partners.

So you remain abstinent because you're unable to protect yourself from STDs? And because god has specifically told you to do so?

How do you know this? How do you know the scriptures are not God's will? You only put faith in that they are not, you have absolutely no way to positively and absolutely know they are not.

I am not absolutely positive about anything except that I exist.

I believe that NOBODY knows what "God's will" is.

Sex with multiple partners destroys the act of sex and or "love making". Once upon a time sex was special between a married man and woman. You know why it was special? Because they were the only ones that made each other feel so great.

Sex with multiple partners becomes just like an every day kind of thing, it looses it's "passion", other then physical lusting passion. But for the emotional passion, it looses it after so many different partners.

How can YOU feel special about how your spouse makes you feel in the bed when you know he's done that exact same thing to the lady next door? How is that then special?

How do you know that? And if there is a God, why would he not inform us of his will? What would be the point in god refraining from telling us? And or, how would we do god's will if god never informs us of what it is?

Nobody knows exactly what the scriptures mean. Any bible scholar will tell you that. Especially if you only know the English version. The original languages the bible was written in have more complex meanings than can be expressed in English. Greek, for example, is highly inflected, unlike English.

I agree that sex with multiple partners may not be all that great, but sex with the same partner for 50 years can also get a bit ... dull.

But that is all a personal matter, and it is not a matter of the Church to dictate. I would tell the church to stay out of people's personal sex lives. Period.

No maybe, one can not get the entire feeling other then by reading the original writings and or copies of such. But the english sums it up and translates it good enough to get a general idea. But besides that, your statement didn't answer any of the questions asked, your statement actually had nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Ah, so you've had sex with multiple partners and have found out that it's not special for you? Or, is that what you're assuming? Either way, YOU decide what you want to do. It isn't up to god or anyone else. You should be in control of yourself to be able to decide. No need to look down on others because they don't follow your rules.

Has nothing to do with the church... ???? You say that like it was the church that wrote the bible. The bible is a combination of 66 books written in different places at different times by different people. Church is where two or more people are gathered in the Lord's name, had nothing to do with a building, an "organised" group, or anything. Again, what does the church have to do with what's in the bible? The church didn't write the bible.

I look down on no one. I don't look down on murderers, I don't look down on people that have multiple sex partners... what are you talking about?

It's none of your business if I had or not, for all you know I'm still a virgin and that is how that knowledge will remain.

You're right. It is none of my business. Just like it's none of your business what anyone else decides to do when it comes to sex or masturbation. It just sounds like you're repeating what you've been told to follow. If that works for you, great.

I'm not just repeating what I been told. One can have knowledge of something and never experience it. This comes from observation of other people around you and talking with people here and there. And no it's none of my business if you have sex with multiple people and or masturbate, never said it was. I'm not the judge, or the father. I'm merely a servant of the lord holding out a helping hand. If you do not wish to give credit to my words, that is your choice and by all means go for it if you wish.

You can have knowledge of your own actions. But, you certainly would not know that everyone's sex lives are not special enough, because they didn't hold out for their spouse like you think they should. You're just making assumptions. And by making those assumptions, you're judging people.

As far as I am concerned, the Church and the Bible have a lot to do with each other. One would not mean squat without the other. So yes, the Church has a lot to do with it.

Neither the Church, the Preacher, the Pope, or your local minister has any business sticking their nose in anyone's private sex lives in my opinion, especially people who don't go to that church.

The Bible is just a book. I have several Bibles sitting around my house and in my Book shelf. It (the Bible) never sticks its nose in my business -- and neither does God.

It is only the Church that does that.

who said it is a sin

The Hebrew Scriptures say that to let one's seed fall upon the ground is a sin, but not because of "lusting after the flesh" as another poster said.

It is a sin because humans were commanded to multiply and be fruitful; masturbation does not impregnate a woman, so the sperm is wasted. A man main goal in life is to impregnate as many females as he can.

Of course, woman spill no seed, so we can masturbate as much as we want.

Yay!
