won't you say sorry before speaking by action? Probably not, it honestly depends on the situation. "Sorry" is used too often, it's become more of a cop-out then anything else. I don't mean to sound bitter, but usually I tell someone, "Don't say sorry, just don't do it again." Why throw apologies that have no meaning around, when it cheapens and lessens the word's meaning? A lot of people my age throw casual apologies and they don't mean it. That word should be used in the appropriate situation, but I don't usually use that word, 'Sorry'. I suppose I've had an intense dislike for the word for quite some time. If the situation called for it, such as a causal apology, such as a quick apology for a stupid act, I suppose I'd use it. I prefer to use other terms when apologizing to another person. I'd probably phrase the apology with a different word. Heck, if I could make up a word that would mean apologies, I would. |

Hah, if only I could see it that way. Perhaps it's all the **** that's happened in my life. Apologies flung around like confetti. So, I suppose in reality I don't think someone can say sorry and really mean it with every fiber of their being. I'd be more impressed if one would simply show their apology then flinging around an overused word.
It's not that I don't apologize, it's that I've heard apologies my entire life from those in my family, my close friends, even lovers. But usually the apology is complete and utter bullsh*t. Like I said before, I'd much rather they show it, then say it. |

If saying sorry is to hard to do... the relationship won't last anyway It shouldn't be about 'right' or 'wrong' When ya love someone you want them to be happy it isn't always about you. I would rather be happy than 'right' all the time. Pride and ego will keep one from apologizing. One that wrapped up in ego, i don't wanna be with anyway. I hear that!! Totally agree! |

I mean they will put their face to the floor and admit their wrong doing! There are times they DO make us look like barbarians! it isn't intentional. They just have a more civil way of doing things. |

Y'all are gettin' deep... but is it possible that offering an apology also has to do with making amends to yourself? You broke a thing internal to yourself as well as hurt another, and perhaps God/gods too? So back to your OP... do you really think one word "sorry" will make things right? That's enough to express to God/gods, the offended and yourself... "Opps, I fugged up?" How many pages long is this thread anyhow...? I get the feeling that you hurt some other "Mingler's" feelings... is that right? Have you gone to them yet and spoke words...? or is philosphizing about it all, all you're going to do? Put this thread to rest... take action. |

The word "SORRY" for me is a very special and sacred word and it is hard to say especially to the person who is very special to me. Why? because for me when you say "sorry" you need not to do whatever you've done again.

When they do the hat and the tassels they are apologizing to someone, not god or gods. It isn't about religion. It is about admitting wrong doing. |
