It does seem strange that the people here who seem most aggressive and war-like in this thread, praise King's passiveness and criticize Malcomx's more militant stance just because it was directed at the white establishment. For him, that was the enemy.

We, as a nation, chose the militant aggressive path. All races participate in our wars.

Malcolm was an important person in our history. He shows that when a black men does what white men were already doing, it comes across differently somehow. Wrongly.

and white women too... you always seem to forget that part...

Does the woman's color matter to you? You seem repulsed by the idea of a black man having sex with a white woman. Why would that be? We do forget that they are white women. Why would that be an issue?

You completely missed my point. Where is there even a place in our political discourse for a phrase like "white women"?

OK, Mr. Tough Guy. I think it has something to do with stuff like 'all (men) are created equal, the 14th amendment and the dynamics of racism'. Where is it appropriate to differentiate between white women and not-white women?

I guess we all have the right to be *****, don't we?

Also being a dick isn't cool. You seem to put a lot of words in other people's mouths. Is that what gets you off at night?

I guess nobody is able to give me an answer. Just hurling personal insults isn't much of a substitute for an honest answer. I guess you only do what you can do.

You likewise toss your share of insults and insinuation. I have seen them answer you and your rebuttals are nothing more than snide commentary in a weak attempt at comedy. Also some of your answers are refuted and you just go back to "prove it, prove it, prove it," much in the same vein as a five year old repeatedly asking "why" all the time. That isn't arguing a point, it is an annoyance.

Also addressing a previous poster:

What is in a promise? So it is fine to make a bunch of promises only to go back on all but his Obama Care plan which is overly complicated and likewise does not fix or address anything. it just dumps another Social program down our throat and makes health Insurance Mandatory Insurance much in the vein of Auto insurance with one exception, we can't opt out. We get fined for not having it. That is why I say

"FUQUE YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA! YOU HAVE ACHIEVED BEING WORST THAN JIMMY CARTER! FAIL"

Sorry about being crude but don't mistake passion for hate. Don't get me wrong I do hate him. He is a lame leader. He has inflamed the situation and the media resists calling our financial situation for what it is, We are in a great depression!

You don't think that was a personal insult? Sure looked like one to me. BTW,m if you were having a personal moment with somebody, these are usually best handled with emails. Message board threads are open to all comers. You don't get to have exclusive rights to a message board thread. It's easy to understand why you don't want to debate with me, but you have no power to prevent me from putting in my two cents. Nobody cares how bothered you are by my input. Least of all me.

it's not your "input" that bothers me, it's your inability to read and understand simple english, then start demanding for me to explain myself... when you learn comprehension, then maybe i can answer your dumb demands... till then, just keep trying to keep up with the rest of us...

he is showing some smarts here, i do like these statements he made...

"Speaking Monday at a televised news conference just hours before Monday's negotiating session, Obama said he wouldn't support a short-term deficit-cutting deal and continued to press for a more ambitious agreement involving tax increases. Obama said both sides have to give. "If not now, when?"

"If we think it's hard now, imagine how these guys are going to be thinking six months from now in the middle of election season, when they're all up. It's not going to get easier, it's going to get harder," Obama said. "So we might as well do it now: Pull off the Band-Aid, eat our peas."

here is the whole article, with some video

http://news.yahoo.com/analysis-obama-bully-pulpit-remarks-pose-risks-211757540.html

but i really sick of all of them worrying more about the elections than what needs to be done...

It's really scary how some people think that the lies that they are told are true...

Really scary.

It is a shame really. The GOP and Tea Party have no concerns for the poor people in this country. That is more than evident. This is a matter of social classes. The elite are supposed to represent the common working family. They, by and in large, do not. The elite have no idea what it is like to be born into a poor family. All we need to do to have a realistic grasp upon what is going on is to look at what they're attempting to do all over the country. Take away collective bargaining rights for working class families which places their livelihood at the mercy of their employer. Tax rates are at a near sixty-year low for the wealthy, while the divide between the wealthy and the poor is greater than it ever has been in US history, yet they want to lower the wealthiest people's taxes even more. Oil industry profits never been higher, yet they want to continue to subsidize the oil companies with tax money. Health care rates never been higher, yet they want to defund public healthcare. Theirs is completely paid for by tax money. They want to cut Social Security, taking away from those who need it most. Do away with Medicare, taking away from those who need it most. I've heard the argument that raising taxes on the wealthy at this time would make the economy worse. History shows otherwise.

Taking from those who have the least, and giving it to those who already have the most...

It is a freaking shame.

i don't get why you say that about the tea party and republicans... some things need to be cut, and others started... it is more about abusing the system, and getting people off of the US's nipple and getting them to do things for themselves...people that are on unemployment for years at a time need to be weaned off of it somehow. i know there is very little jobs out there, but sitting at home playing with the X-BOX that the government bought for them is not right either...
