Malcolm X would have been proud.

I pray to god something like that happens to me, someone trying to intimadate me with a billy club or a night stick......... Since that is a life threatening situation those people failed to act on, when lethal force IS allowed in self defense.

Someone comes at me or approaches me with a weapon they better have luck or God on their side cause I wont just hurt them............

I would not have put up with being intimidated either. I didn't see them actually hit or intimidate anyone.

They also have no way of knowing what way a person might vote. So that remark was stupid made by the reporter.

He should have just walked past the two guards and see what happened instead of talking to them about why they were there or why they were carrying night sticks. That just seems sort of lame.

I don't agree that carrying a night stick is against the law. People and security guards carry them all the time. People even carry guns.

They may have been there to protect black voters going in.

That was what ACORN said too until they were busted for Voter fraud and other things like intimidating voters...

And so....????

Slamming a club into your hands starring down people as they enter a building? Then walking up to the guy with a camera moving the club? That's definately intimidating and justifiable. I never get that lucky tears

Granted you don't instigate or prod someone with a weapon, thats just asking for trouble, being I carry a weapon everywhere I go and never brandish it, sow it off or even show someone unless it has to be used(and it never has had to be used or pulled).

Most states you can not own a night stick, PR24, ASP or billy club unless you are in a Law Enforcement related field AND trained and certified. I know in California it is a Felony, and in Nevada you can be charged, but they rarely enforce it unless it's used during the commission of a crime. I have an ASP in my car at all times but I am also trained and able to carry one in California and Nevada. i am also trained and certified to carry a Law Enforcement edition Taser, O2 and certified to both carry and certify in handcuffing.

I guarantee NONE of these guys were trained to carry or even was legal for them to carry it. They were all arrested and charged with Felonies, but let off the hook by the Attorney General himself under the orders of Obama(who they just happened to be supporting that day, go figure).

In the United States, legality is determined by the laws of the individual states. Some such as Vermont or Arizona allow for legal carry in the absence of unlawful behavior or criminal intent. Others such as California and most states have general prohibitions against the carrying of all "club" weapons by non-law enforcement. Such jurisdictions will sometimes make exceptions for persons employed as security guards or bodyguards, will provide for permits to be obtained for legal carry, or make exceptions for persons who complete an appropriate training course.

In the UK, batons are considered to be offensive weapons (as they are "made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person"), which prohibits their possession in a public place under the Prevention of Crime Act 1953. In addition, manufacturing, selling, lending and importing fixed and telescopic batons are all prohibited under section 141 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

What???!!! When was ACORN busted for voter fraud or intimidating voters? Did I miss something in the news? I know that you get your news from vastly different sources than I do, but it's hard to believe that this would have escaped notice.

This is what I would prefer to carry!

I would have it inscribed with the following, "I come in peace and will lay waste to those who chose not to be peaceful!"

spock

I wish people could get along so we didn't have to be scared of some azzhole doing something really bad to us somewhere down the line. There are places I refuse to go unarmed. Even a knife is better than nothing and superior in close quarters. if I went to the polls and some clown threatened me with a club I would come back and do him if the cops didn't get there first. One in the chest and one in the head! And I would down load the first two shots to .38+ to cut down on the chance of accidental casualties. After the first two shots all bets are off! I am so super fuqing sick and tired of people trying to pull crap on each other and I sure in the hell am done with being threatened!

This is my prediction. In the next two years law and order will gradually erode to the point vigilantes are going to take matters into their own hands like San Francisco in the late 1800s. Death notices were posted on the streets and almost anyone getting caught by the vigilantes were hung in the street. If you were a doctor or a priest you usually would have been left alone. Drunks? Dead. Someone with no excuse for being out? Hung on the spot. Known criminals were hunted down in the streets and beaten to death publicly. The police were powerless to do anything to stop it and likewise were also either targets or part of the Vigilante gangs depending on if they were conscientiously trying to deal with the crime problem or one of the corrupt cops! Well, when it happens in the here and now it will come off like gang violence and will wind up escalating to the point where national guard will get dragged in. Anyone being Hispanic will be targeted first and likewise anyone with a 12, 13, or 14 tattooed on them will likely be a target. Gangs will find a new breed of gang going after them better armed and itching to just kill them all mercilessly and make examples of any they catch alive.

What then? We descend into anarchy? Another prediction of mine. The worst is yet to come!

Yep. They do. Black people aren't supposed to do that.

White people only I guess.... tongue2

Artlo, come to the table like a man or don't come at all. Is it time for childish one liners AGAIN?

An awful lot of irrelevant stuff here. We're talking about the character of Malcolm X and what he stood for. He stood for self-defense against genuinely oppressive forces. I remember a potty-mouthed, violent white thug on this message board who advocated violence over disagreements about labor unions. 'You have to take a stand over something'. I don't think that anger is out of place towards people who harrass and attack, oppress, and even kill your friends and family. Self-defense is what it is.

OH REALLY? Nice of you to toss an insult in this too but I am big enough to let it slide this once. Like you always accuse me of making blanket statements Malcomlm X hated all white people and blanketed us with all their oppression. Now if others were not shoving their anger on me I would not be so loaded with what I got. 3/4s of the anger I have is from other people. Stupid idiots in charge make me hot under the collar. So what? You act like Unions are the answer to getting business back in this nation but in reality they are not helping. Worthy unions such as the Sprinkler and Pipe Fitter union offers labor quality assurance. They make sure their membership are fully trained and tested to meet state standards. That is one union I would INSIST on doing any architectural work involving fire prevention systems and boiler work. The Steam and Boiler Workers union is another one I respect because they again train and test their labor. Teamsters? MAFIA THUGS! The Teacher's union? Waste of money! UAW? They can eat my sheiss! But one thing is ALL UNIONS DO NOT DESERVE POLITICAL POWER! they are like the corporations and serve their interests, not ours globally! Government regulates, not them! MOVING ON! No tangenting. Shame on you! (no nun yet!)

Malcolm X did not stand for self defense. Read carefully so you might get a clue, he stood for paranoia and scapegoated all of white America unfairly even when he advocated peace. His avocation of violence included victimization of innocent people. He wanted to drive the white man under his heel. I remember that being one of his choice phrases. So going back to earlier. When I grew up I was picked on my Black kids. Not other kids. In grade school I got in fights with black kids starting something with me. I was not into starting fights but willing to get into them. I grew up with few black friends. When I was in high School my black friends were like anyone else. Most of the Compton crowd started crap with me once and found out what a hoard of pissed off Samoans is like when they seen them messing with me and their younger brother. Anyone who knows Grape Street knows you DON'T want to be white there especially after dark. I had a friend who lived there and I would work on his car at his house. I was fronted once and it ended with several friends of my bro backing me. Now I always have tried to lay the olive branch down once but after that I will not do it again. I don't like it when people spot anger about me when I have nothing to do with any of it.

Why is Clarence Thomas such a villain among your own set? He is a black conservative? He hated affirmative action and openly opposed it? He doesn't like bending legal interpretations? I actually highly regard the man. He has my respect. he makes a positive difference ans sets a bar for what blacks can become and achieve if they try! I know you hate Colon Powel but he still made 4 star general in "The White man's Army." If I remember there are no 5 star generals any more. I am sure if I google it (I bet you love hearing me write that) I can find a host of black people who are people I can admire.

So like I said, come here like a man and offer something more than your snotty little commentaries. Malcolm X became the issue. I cannot see any reason to praise him. At least Gandhi LIVED for peace. I think he was a sissy but he stuck to his guns. THAT I CAN RESPECT! Malcolm X was nothing more than an instigator and a haterator. Even I don't advocate armed rebellion against our government and believe that change has to come from within but it has to be for the good of all, not the few.

So where is the love these days? Did somebody manage to can it? I want a can!

God Damn it Coke! You did manage to get Love into a can!

Malcom X did not hate all white people.

Your homework assignment is to read and study everything you can about the man.

He was more polite, more intelligent and less racist than you appear to be to me. But that's just my impression.

Mostly because he is corrupt and a lapdog for the other 3 or 4 corporatist Justices on the Supreme Court. Was that manly enough for you?

Gee, I can say that of about 9/10s of the Democratic party too! They massively overshadow the Dems wanting to do something good for all of us!
