Won't be so trite to ask the question. We all have selective behaviors depending on situations, place, and history. I think this goes for hometown dwellers, and urban transients alike. A lot of times all of the components mingle (personal, work, family, spiritual, etc.). Otherwise Would you let your lesbian nun for the metric system friend, meet your crazy militant 2nd cousin with a Bomb Pop Mohawk???? Do you compartmentalize a bit?

Sadly, Gramps can no longer climb with us... but he goes as far as base camp, and joins friends of all ages for beers afterwards

Haha, I'm certain that it's amusing to watch someone like me struggling to keep these worlds from colliding... I try less and less to do it, though. I'm tired. Nice post...

laugh.... at times it's fun. Back when mohawks and other accoutrement was still shocking I brought a punk friend home to shock my parents. I'm not sure if it was pleasure or disappointment when they became quick friends.

Dang Beach...I grew up with that. Everytime one of my Hippy Friends came over my ma and pa would cring inside. The whole Rock n Roll, Smoke dope, Make Love not War concepts were hard for them to grasp

no....all my people are my people...all my loves are loved....and they mesh where they will... besides....I haven't got the room for compartments....I threw them out with the labels, and the gender bashings years ago.
