What works best for you when it comes to meeting new people?
Do you make it a point to get out and meet people when you can? Do you rely mostly on sites like this? If so, do you make sure you actually meet people in person once in a while? |

I usually try to meet new people with a smile. I try to wave when people come down my road or wave at them when I am driving. This is the only dating site that I am on. I have come in contact with folks at church or from my meetings.

It depends on the intensions. Are you wanting to meet people for conversation, hang out or date?

After I realized how many people I knew, I decided it was too many. Being a social butterfly is hard work!
So I became a hermit.

For friends, it's always worked when I wasn't trying....met friends through work, and at conventions(horror, comic), and have met friends through some horror message boards.

 And to change the subject, back to the original subject... I like meeting new people wherever I can find them. I rely on nothing anymore but that others' enjoy relationship too. The internet is just another vehicle... cryptic enough? |

I meet more new people on the internet, then in real life.
I live isolated in the countryside, so it's become the best option for me :) |

I am living here in Austria somewhere in the mountains (and i hate it... but well, not for very much longer i hope... the city is calling). So, personally i would go out and talk to people :) Then there is work where i meet many people (and some are nice and i spend some time with), internet (mingle for example) is a nice place and sometimes i visit a dancing school or something like that... and there are many new people too :)

If so, do you make sure you actually meet people in person once in a while? I am in an industry where I get to meet people from all walks of life. I always make sure I make a balanced life so I make it a point to make time for my family, my work, my friends and myself. Part of giving time for my friends and myself is going out to meet them (old and new friends) personally during weekends. Am also glad we now have gadgets that this technology has to offer so going in these sites are as easy as touching a small pad on your palm.  |

The only time I really meet new people is when I'm hanging out with someone I already know. From time to time they'll have a friend come over that I haven't met before, so I'm assuming that counts.
Also, I was able to meet quite a few new people when I started my new job. I don't really go out to bars or clubs or anything like that to meet new people... I've never really liked that kind of scene. |

I must be an approachable person because someone always seems to start a conversation with me when I go shopping. It's harder to meet new people on here in my opinion. |
