Has been closed, lol, just kidding.

I started using the internet, quite a number of years ago. Since that time, i feel my knowledge has expanded greatly. I also feel, if i had access to this infinite vault of information, when i was younger, i would have progressed much faster, and achieved more goals in life.

Here is a list of things i've noticed over the years.

1) Gradually, my grammar improved, as i was never an 'a' student in English.

2) Interaction with others: I have found it easier to communicate with people from all walks of life.

3) I have learned to be more compassionate of those, who are less fortunate than i am.

4) I have made a lot of good friends, from all over the world.

What are some of the things you've learned? and how has the world wide web helped you?

The same is applicable to me. Additionally it gives some type of mental satisfaction & increase the confidence level.

Haha one of the best things I have found to use:thumbsup:

I will have to admit being online has made me more compassionate when it comes to others.... I never realized how deep and caring that some could be to those they have never met.

It is amazing the friends you can acquire behind a computer screen and the opportunity's it gives you to met them in person as well:thumbsup:

One huge thing for me is the sheer availability of information. I had to do a ton of research on the planet Neptune and its moons when I was writing my first book, and it was amazing how much I was able to dig up in a very short time.

I first got on line in 1996; prior to that, I would have had to go to the library for this kind of information.

A few days ago, I had a flash of memory about a cartoon I had seen when I was a kid, maybe 4 years old. I went to youtube, found the cartoon and watched it again, after all these years. (It wasn't quite as good as I remembered it.) But it just amazes me that I can click a few buttons and bring back things I haven't even thought about for ages.

The same ^_^

I live out in the country, It's given me a new outlook on the world. I am amazed at how many different ways that people live there lifes, and how some of small things are really big to some people.

Also I have learned so much about history and culture too :)

And finally about people, how everyone uses facebook to interact with each other. How it's so easy to get relationship advice. And how nice it can be to have a friend or two here and there. ^_^

A special word for Wikipedia, Ebay, Amazon and Youtube. Love them all! :D

I love Youtube although the quality does suck a bit, if I want to look up a song or even a bugs bunny cartoon, well theres Youtube and that is awesome.

I'm with Lex on this one I have been able to look stuff up that I had no access to in the past except hands on research. The internet can be a great tool when finding information. Google is one of the greatest tools type in a thought and you have site after site to go too for the information you are seeking....

I have been with the internet since vrtually day 1 as friends of mine developed virtual reality and many internet applications at a research facility in mini silicon valley (dayton ohio) where I lived while the internet was in it's formative years

I saw some of the first emails - tho it was many years before I actually sent any of my own- as I was a housewife and banned from the fraternitylaugh

but in some ways welcomed

weird

I also (oh loathe to admit) used computers before WINDOWS - when I had to totally shut down one ap before I could use another

crazy I know shoo boop de doo

has the internet helped me - it's my way of life - whe people tell me they have no internet it's beyond my understanding - pirate if u must----------no internet = no life

I have been on the net a few years now and have learned a few things.

Everyone is an expert on EVERYTHING.

Everyone is beautiful or are cartoon characters.

Japanese porn is even more bizarre than Germn porn.

I can find a recipie for anything.

Everything on the internet is the absolute truth and I have been the 1,000,000th visitor to just about every site and must have won several thousand laptops (just too lazy to click the button to claim my prizes)

I have learned that Dolly Parton has never apparently taken off her blouse...:(

I have learned to kick @$$ on Mahjong.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl who is about to die for the 1,387,258th time.

I have won 6 ipods and 4 Ipads so far.

That some hot chick has a secret crush on me.

I now keep my toothbrush in the living room, because I was told by e-mail that water splashes out of the toilet.

I love that I can communicate with people from all over the world and never have to leave my living room.

You can find just about any information you want...tho some of it may not be exactly true

I am an anomaly

I have not learned anything I didnt already pretty much know or wouldnt have been able to learn from my local library...

although, the access to the information and misinformation is much 'easier' and 'broader'
