Does this mean that Cowboy is going to finally stop trying to convince everyone that God is out to get them?

I don't know.

Never said God was out to get anyone. God loves us all and only wishes the best for us all. In return he appreciates the gratitude and acknowledgement. But again, no God isn't out to get anyone in this exact sense. He's out to get everyone in a sense out to get everyone to heaven, out to get everyone to love him and everyone else.

Why do you think God is out to get everyone to love him? Do you believe in the Devil? If so, why do you think the Devil or Satan or Lucifer does not love God?

Lucifer is prideful. He believes himself to be greater the God. He believes himself to be more powerful then God. He believes he could do a better job with the world. And God is out to get everyone to love him for he created each and everyone of us. His entire intention was for us to live in the paradise with him, the garden of Eden. To live in peace, feel no pain, never know of a tragedy. Lucifer spoiled this a little and prolonged this even from happening.

Makes one more responsible with their actions since they have no devil to blame them on.

Makes one understand that the men of old had very little understanding of real relationships and what a god would really be like if there were one. Instead they created a god like themselves with all the power they desired.

Makes one more empathetic to their fellow man instead of feeling superior and needing to "help" those less than or save them.

Etc...

how do you know he's not? all you know is what you've been told and what you read in the bible...your merciful god didn't show the prettiest angel any mercy...and he must be at least equal with "god" because he cannot destroy him...

Does that make god a narcissist? It all about him and loving him and his end result.

Not necessarily. We are lower then God, we are not equal nor anywhere near greater then God. Yet, he is loving and offers us anything we could ever possibly need. He offers his love unconditionally. Why would it not be fair to praise him for all the great things he does for us?

And on top of that a narcissist is someone in love with them self. God is not in love with him self. God gives US undeserving love and undeserving gifts everyday. How is that a narcissist?

Cowboy you seem to know a lot about what Satan believes.
Why does god want people to live in paradise with him? And are you claiming that the Garden of Eden is the same as paradise?

Why do you think Lucifer thought he could do a better job than God? Was God doing a poor job? Where do you get this kind of information? From your Sunday school or from the Bible that everyone says that God himself wrote?

If God himself wrote it, what makes you think his side of the story is accurate? Have you ever heard Lucifer's side of the story? I doubt if you have.

That is the reason he was kicked out of heaven. He thought himself to be more powerful then God. I know Lucifer couldn't do a better job then God. God is the greatest. I get my knowledge from the holy spirit. Where do you get your knowledge?

that was my point earlier... all any bible thumper reads is the bible, and nothing else, so it is a one sided argument. i do not know of anyone that has met or seen either deity, so how can anyone claim to know any truth in this?

no offense, but keep telling your self that... i know a few psychologists that would love to chat with you... kind of the theory that if you believe something long and hard enough, it must be true...when did you meet Lucifer?

I don't remember exactly the date, but I remember many occasions of discussing with him. I remember many occasions where he told me to go ahead and lie, it'll be for the best. It'll make her happy. It'll let this storm pass and lead to sunshine.

If I can be allowed to change the wording of the OP, just a bit, I would state that there are advantages to non-religious, existential, or other beliefs of mysticism.

Two of the greatest advantages:

1. My morality and my values can be influenced and changed as I experience life and continue to grow in knowledge. This is not not the case of one who claims to hold beliefs of values or morals based on an unchanging religious view.

2. I have a great deal to learn and what I think is correct may be proven wrong - but I don't have to defend what I thought was right, I can simply say - "wow, thanks for enlightening me" and I now have a new piece of information with which to make new associations.



If I can be so bold - Jenniebean is one of the few people who has beliefs that are adjustable. There may be a single overall like a believe life continues after the body stops - but everything related to that idea may be subject to change as she is exposed to new information and other ideas.

That is the reason why I changed the wording of OP statement - because some beliefs are flexible and THAT is a good thing - if we could only make all beliefs more flexible.

You can blame that on the Devil if it makes you feel better about the voices in your head, but chances are that is just your brain thinking over-time.

We all can relate to hearing our inner thoughts and voices telling us what not to do or what to do. Its called thinking. I think the human has many different psyche's that make up their personality.

Of course I have known people who actually do have a problem with voices in their head that do not seem to be their own. There is a name for that.

O.I.C... hence everything good is god, everything bad is the devil... why doesn't god just get rid of the devil and stop the silliness now? or 2000 years ago when jesus was around? the bible changed then, he should have went all out then...

We have Satan running around causing "troubles" for if we didn't, would this not be like Heaven? Would it not be like a paradise with nothing bad? Yes it would be. Satan is allowed to run around to do this, it is our punishment for our disobedience in the Garden of Even. Again, without Satan causing sorrows, this world would be the paradise promised to us. So this specific time of life would almost be pointless. There would be no need for a separation of Heaven and Earth.
