I think it is more a protection then being paranoid, when you have been hurt a lot and let down, of course you are not going to just let it happen again. it is a natural survival skill that most of us have.

It takes a lot to trust, and lots more to just completely trust someone, it means opening yourself up so that someone can tear you apart if they decide to break your trust..

I have no family, and no friends in real life. Basically, everyone I THOUGHT was a friend abandoned me after the car accident in Feb. of 2009. That's when I learned everything I needed to know about trust.

Humm all I can say is without trust one does not have much to build relationships on............

One if Shiki's qualities is that when one bad relationship ends, he picks himself up and dusts himself off. He realizes that it is not how hard you hit, but how hard you get hit in life, and keep moving forward, that makes all the difference between winning and losing. And while you should not wear your heart on your sleeve, sometimes, it is worth it to let your guard down.

The people who really ARE my friends are people from this site -- I suppose it's strange, but I've gotten more genuine friendship from this site than I've EVER had in real life -- and that's why I've been here so long....

Wow Lex, that seems almost unimaginable to me! I am blessed with many friends and family members that I trust in RL. We have been through all kinds of lifes mishaps together and would never imagine abandoning each other...mebbe ese is right about it being a Texas thing??? Saw a friend that I lost contact with about 12 yrs ago last weekend and still felt just as close to him as we were right outta high school! I told him chit I don't talk to most others about without even thinking twice about it.

No thanks ever needed man..Friends care,,friends share, friends are there...WHEN you need them...I have trusted many who were just plain WRONG,,for me to have trusted,,but,,I cannot change who I am,,so I shall always have a desire to trust again,,,BUT always with the deceptions of my past,,keeping my eyes more focussed on their truths,,,,to witness and know,,or witness and GO,,,lol..I could never love, w/o trust being within them and me..
After awhile being around someone or feeling you know them well,,you start giving them more trusts about you and life..and when you meet that lady who you just CAN'T stop yourself from giving that away to them,,,your trust again man,,,,to be real..

I believe ther are good people out there worth trusting, it's just some times we find the wrong ones.
It isn't easy for me to completely trust someone else, but when I do there is a friendship for life.
I would rather have a few really good friends than a lot of so called friends.

i think it's a lot like love.... you can't trust people if you can't trust yourself to pick people to trust...

I can trust anybody I find trustworthy enough but I'm afraid I just don't trust everybody I meet Not in these days.
