I Think that the problem of some men is that educated women are harder for them them to impress then uneducated women.

I don t think they are intimidating at all.

With a guy who had not attended college before might though. I would have felt a little disadvantaged by dating a graduate. Now that I am half way to my degree I would not see it the same though.

You have a valid point & so does JTL!!! My most recent ex quit high school & as a grad student I got many strange looks & comments about how that may not work out! Us not working out, however, had little to do with our differing levels of education and much to do with wanting different lifestyles. Guess one could argue that if he was more educated he'd want a similar life as myself, but I can't agree with that as I know people much like myself that range from ex-con's to those with multiple degrees!

singme...many PhDs I meet have absolutely no common sense at all...over-educated idiots as I call them!

Education level should not discourage anyone, someone with proper education should know not to talk over their audience. People who just use the big uncommon words all the time thinking that they are impressing anyone usually falls short since the other people do not understand what they are even talking about...they end up sounding like "Charlie Brown's Teachers"...lol.

The person who has educated themselves more than likely will not have too much in common with someone with a lower education, this might be fine for a quick hook up or a just physical relationship but for a more meaningful relationship then you would want to find someone closer to your own education level, in my opinion, or at least someone on their way to an education.

I don't think it is the level of education that intimidates a man. I think that some men believe that the smarter or more successful a woman is, the more unapproachable she is. However, that is not the case.

So, fellas, approach them smart, sophisticated mamas. You'll find them juicier than a chicken in the fryer.

A woman could be a female Einstein and the GUY would never know THAT,,if their Chemistry over-wrote all that either were...
Intelligence comes with also knowing human possibilities as to how to show THAT,,or not show THAT,,and its THROUGH THAT,,in which MAKES THE LADY OR BREAKS THE LADY..

That SAME,,holds true for GUYS!! drinker:wink:

Being smart,,,is not something most would carry as their purse or make-up,,it just appears when needed and spoken only with respect of who they are,,and of what they feel an importance to point out..

If THEY feel a need to FLAUNT THEIR'S,,then,,its all in the guy to know THAT as them,,or move on because it gets in the way of her seeing or feeling him..?

I see many graduate student women concerned about finding a mate before finishing their degrees! Many believe having a master's or doctorate makes it more difficult to date.

I have never really sat and pondered this...so, what are your opinions?

my first thoughts are that this would attract more serious men rather than the players, but what the heck do I really know? LOL

The best relationship I ever had was with someone who was considerably smarter than I'll ever be. And I'm not exactly a cretin.

But "educated woman" is sort of an oxymoron in Indianastan. I'd be surprised if I ran into one who could spell simple words and negotiate both UP and DOWN on an escalator.

Finding a mate... implies having kids raising a family. I wonder why a woman would spend a fortune on a college degree when her real plan is to raise a family? Aren't raising children enough of a career or are women expected to do both these days?

Or do they think raising children is a part time job?
