It may be a point of preference, but teeth? REALLY? Some people can't afford to get their teeth fixed. Some people are born with abnormal teeth. Is that their fault and should it be used against them as a person? I'm lucky, I happen to be in the military and get dental work done for free. But then again, realignment and whitening and what have you, unless done for the physical structure of the teeth is considered cosmetic and not covered in the military. I don't know about you, but if I had misaligned teeth or had a disease that caused me to lose them, I'm not going to go out and spend thousands of dollars on getting my grill up to a woman's superficial standards. Hell there is even a disease out there that causes your teeth to rot out of your head from the day your born. I find it rather pathetic that somebody would hold something that is pretty much out of a person's control against them.

People wonder what the hell is wrong with this world, one of the things is people are to damn caught up on looks. What the hell you gonna do when you get old and wrinkly, kill yourself because you're not perfect anymore. Anybody focused that much on looks should save the gene pool and not pursue a relationship.

I agree with your line of thoughts and additionally I find the question offensive to begin with. What's next?

shallow is in the eye of the beholder

and not against mingle rules either,,,,lol

there are PLENTY of shallow posts and topics here,

in general, dental health is something that we have control over, so I think the question opens up discussion about something relevant to 'dating'

its just like any other preference question, would you date someone shorter than you, or would you date someone who is still married,,,

these types of questions are asked all the time on dating sites, its hard to paint them with the brush of offensiveness when they are worded simply because context is hard to read in black and white,,,

I'm agreed with ms.

It is in everyones interest to discuss such matters openly on dating sites.

If I'm genuinly ready to accept someone with mental/physical disability, then whoever says whatever ,it wont make me differ.

Once I became involved with a man who did have bad teeth. At first I realized he needed braces, but only because they were crowded. A few weeks after we started dating, he complained of a broken tooth.
His brother played a joke on him, by giving him a jawbreaker and telling him it was gum. He showed me the shattered molar and I told him he really had to go to the dentist and get it taken out or fixed. He said, "Yeah maybe while I'm there, I could have this thing looked at too." It was an abscess growing behind a tooth. I think it was the rotten remains of a baby tooth that had become infected and....
When I asked how long that had been there, he told me--SEVERAL YEARS!!! When he finally went to the dentist, they found 22 cavities in his head.
He had a college degree, a good job, insurance, and a sweet Mustang but didn't take care of his teeth.
It is a big and important part of taking care of yourself.
It tells a lot about a person.
I'm not judging anyone who did not had the benefit of regular dental care as a child, or who does not have they money to get it done.
All I know is that when I found out I'd been tangling tongues with someone with a bunch of rot in his mouth, I wanted to barf.

btw you don't have to remove this thread because you think it's shallow... it could be educational for those wondering what's gone wrong with their dating history
