The Land of the Free and The Home of the Brave.

This land is my land, this land is your land from east to west and North to South,,as far as you can see in every direction.
THIS IS OUR ROOTS, OUR LIVES, OUR FOUNDATIONS TO GROW AND BE.
WHERE our fathers, fathers , fathers have lived, worked, loved, and died. Where as a Country, WE HAVE SHOWED OUR POWER, OUR MERCY.
BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN HAVE DIED TO PROTECT EVERYTHING WE HAVE HERE TO CALL OUR HOMES.
WE HAVE EVERY NATIONALITY HERE LIVING GROWING AND FINDING LOVE.
WE HAVE MORE RIGHTS THAN ANY OTHER NATION FOR ITS PEOPLE TO STRIVE.
WE LIVE IN HOMES UNLOCKED, CAR KEYS LEFT IN ITS IGNITION, KIDS PLAYING ALONE IN THEIR YARDS AND SIDE-WALKS.
NO BULLETS FLYING BY OUR HEAD, WE"RE NOT WALKING OVER OUR DEAD.
MISSALS NEVER COME THROUGH OUR AIR, WE DON'T EVER JUST DISAPPEAR.
WE LIVE PROTECTED, NOT BEING SUFFOCATED.
YOU CAN'T JUST BE SHOT FOR WALKING BY, DON'T EVEN THINK TO TRY.
WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO EARN MONEY, AND BUY WHATEVER WE WANT.
WE NEVER HAVE TO ASK IF THATS OK, OR HAVE TO FIND GAME TO HUNT.
THIS IS MY LAND,THIS IS MY WORLD, THIS IS ALL THAT WE MAKE IT TO BE.

Now as for how it is now, its NOT easy,
How it looks now, IT LOOKS ROUGH,
How it feels talking to strangers, THEIR DEPRESSED.
How it IS TO BE A PART OF IT, IT FEELS FREE!
No CHAINS UPON MY LEGS OR ARMS.
NO WAKE UP SOUNDS OF ALARMS.
NO ONE TELLING ME I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING.

So life is what we ALL let happen to make it change.
And I know we shall work together to make this life better.
AND THAT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,IS FREEDOM,,and FREE TO CHOOSE OUR WAY.

Just my humble thoughts at the moment,,, drinker smokin

Thank you thank you thank You,
That is what i wanted to know, i cn understand that easily as it is exactly as we are.

The problem is this...

America is as vast and diverse as any place else on Earth...maybe even more so.

We got cool and laid back people...we also invented the atomic bomb.

Land of the free....yep. Just maybe not your concept of freedom. We are free to be mouthy, thieving, drug dealing douche bags. Then again, We are also the Home of the free that would take the meal from our table to feed a hungry stranger. We are capable of uncommon goodness...just like we are capable of blowing your brains against a wall.

I am from the heart of the Land of the Free. We have more guns than people....and THAT makes for a very diplomatic society.

everything you described about your country happens here as well. Everything you described about America happens in your country as well.

Maybe it was where you visited. Every country has their good and bad, but that doesn't mean it's the same all over.

There is crime in every country where people have to be careful and there are places where people never lock their doors.

We have many opportunities here. We are going through a recession just like many countries are, so that might limit some things.

The only literal way a country can be truly free is if there are no laws and everyone can do as they please.

You are free to practice whatever religion you wish (within the law...meaning no human sacrifices, etc) You are free to to voice opinions and hold peaceful protests, You are free to vote....and so on and so on. But there are laws established. You are free to even break these laws (just don't be surprised if you get in trouble)

The Land of the Free means different things to different people.

Well i think by LAND OF THE FREE means that USA has so much power around the world that they feel free in 1 sense cause A lot of Country's know the strength they have ,,, and i guess they would use such power to save each other in wars fighting not just in their Country but around the world what they call freedom ,....... but i can see the point you are making jo Australia is different raised up different kind of like Canada here in Canada is known as a peace full Country and everyone says hi to each other you can walk to downtown in most areas no trouble but i known in the states a lot carry guns known for violence and WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of poor people in the U.S. is millions higher than previously known, with 1 in 6 Americans— many of them 65 and older — struggling in poverty due to rising medical care and other costs, according to preliminary census figures released Wednesday.

At the same time, government aid programs such as tax credits and food stamps kept many people out of poverty, helping to ensure the poverty rate did not balloon even higher during the recession in 2009, President Barack Obama's first year in office.

Under a new revised census formula, overall poverty in 2009 stood at 15.7%, or 47.8 million people. That's compared to the official 2009 rate of 14.3%, or 43.6 million, that was reported by the Census Bureau last September.

Across all demographic groups, Americans 65 and older sustained the largest increases in poverty under the revised formula — nearly doubling to 16.1%. As a whole, working-age adults 18-64 also saw increases in poverty, as well as whites and Hispanics. Children, blacks and unmarried couples were less likely to be considered poor under the new measure.............but i saw a show how people work all their lifes in USA and get when a health prob comes they take everything from people so sad cost there is crazy on health in Canada health is covered if a Canadian here we don't pay for it:) just regular taxes on food covers it , 1 friend went on a trip to usa and fell broke a leg they took xrays there fixed it over 10,000 dollars in Canada its free to fix so sad ,cheers

Using this poverty measurement, 37 million people, or 13 percent of the population, currently live below the poverty line. If a more realistic formula for counting the poor were used, without the flaws of the current poverty threshold, the number of poor would rise to at least 50 million.

These figures put the United States in the dishonorable position of having the highest poverty rates in the industrialized world............so if you wonder why theres so much un happy people and lots of crime cause its 1 of the poorest Country's in the world by racial of people, they need to start helping the poor in their country first In the USA, an estimated 15 million children -- one in four -- live in poverty
... they keep making more and more weapons and not help the poor sad but true :) oh well thats life till someone can take control and it starts with everyone not 1 person ,love and kindness help each other but most of that is all gone now there in some areas its so sad .

Born Free,

Taxed to death!

Land of the free,

Home of the depraved.

Apathy, arrogance, and self interest all in one.

And if you seen HBO's Rome, Americans are getting arrogant like the Roman Senate pre-Empire days. Oh how they got so indignant over Gauls, Celts, and Germaine being represented in the senate. Also as long as they were fed what did it matter that the plebs were starving? America suffers the same arrogant mismanagement too!

America will be a lesson of taking history very seriously so we don't repeat it! We ARE repeating history!

I am proud to be an American but it is our leadership that is the embarrassment!

America, land of the free:

Free to rape and pillage the crap out of her citizens as long as you have money!

Just to say that America is the land of our ancestors. Some came on their own free will and others were forced to come here. Rape me and kill me with taxes. If our ancestors were here to see this, they would probably just be sick. Some countries have shackles on what their citizens can say and even write.

As long as you have money(to quote someone), then you will be free.

Yeah, Lets be like China! College students protest, roll tanks over them! Mexico is a problem we take them over and pretend like we did nothing wrong! Just like what happened to poor Tibet! We can then pollute like cray since we would not have to care any more! Oh yeah, China is the role model of the new millennium!

Ach Tung, Seig heil! Oh, that isn't Chinese!

What I like about this country, is the vast potential for opportunity. If you are willing to apply yourself, you can earn most any thing. Sure...not everyone is willing to really put in the suffering for what they want....same as everywhere else. Some people have odds stacked against them....through no fault of thier own...I.E.: a beaver bites off a leg or you get put in a wheel chair by a meteor. (we really don't have too much racism here, so that card don't play where I live.) Cool or uncool is an individual thing out here. Fortunately....we got a lot of cool ones.

No No No No, my trip was fantastic, i loved it, and the people who i met where lovely, just different,

it was like a fairytalke, as everything was so pretty and white like in a dream, I had the best time and am coming back.

but I grew up in a tiny place, where there wherent heaps of people and we relied on each other for most things, so when i got to the big cities, they where a huge shock.

Not a bad shock just a shock. obviously I wouldnt walk around one as i cant even find my way around your shopping centres as they are huge.

Australian big cities are probably the same. It was just a general question.

Like last night I was looking at land around america and it had remote on them, and when i was talking to anaconda and said i would like to buy something remote, a few hours away from a town he said that towns arnt that far away from each other, where here, remote means hours away from anyting, theymight be four hours from the closest town. Over there it is half an hour, it is really hard for me to get it into my head that everything is so close. That is just one of the differences, it doesnt mean I dont like it, just that its a shock.
