I bought flashlight batteries and water today. I'm doing laundry now. I hear somebody outside trying to scrape the ice off their windshield.

All of the schools here closed early except my child's. I brought my child home anyway. lol

Girl I'm trying to stay warm but unfortunately I have not found a cuddle buddy yet well that is if I don't count my dogs.....

Ha! Fur babies count....'cept they can't really appreciate the 'ambience' of the occasion... ...so yeah...calling for volunteers to be TxGal's cuddle buddy!!!!

Hummm well so far the dogs have it not only do they keep me warm but they leave the remote alone and don't touch my beer or my crown.........and always happy as hell to see me...

Well they are calling for the rain to hit here this evening and down in the low teens tomorrow with lots of sleet.

So I'm off to the store to get a few things I may need for the next few days....cause this girl don't drive on the ice

Yep, I'm about 45 min south of FETTS.. Calling for up to 6" of snow and up to 1" of ice.. Brought in 2 big loads of wood for the woodburner, chili is made, grociers bought.. ready for the storm!!!

Here in Vermont, we're only getting a dusting tomorrow, which is about 3-8 inches. We're expecting about a foot and a half or more on Wednesday. Yee ha!

I'd rather have a blizzard than the -30 degree temps we had earlier this week. That's just brutally cold! Plus I have a 4WD truck!

Here's a bit more advice to help you all weather the storm...

If you do lose heat, to prevent water pipes from freezing and bursting, leave the tap dripping slightly.

If you need to travel, make sure you have a blanket and an extra set of dry, warm clothes in your car, especially socks and an extra pair of gloves. Tell someone your route of travel and expected time of arrival in case you slide off the road and get stuck. It wouldn't hurt to throw a lighter and some bottled water in your vehicle either, although you really should have those in there all the time, not just in preparation for a storm.

And my last piece of advice is...don't aim for the head in your snowball fights. Those suckers can leave a mark!

OMG what happen to the sunshine? I heard the rain hit like 2-3 this morning then the wind and the thunder. Finally the sleet wow got up this morning and everything is white. Took the dogs outside and the wind is blowing soooooooooooo hard it is unreal.

It's officially blizzard conditions here today. Got into full swing about 4 this morning. White-out conditions. Snow is blowing sideways. Can't even see my neighbor's house. The town here has officially closed down, nothing is open. They're calling for 20 inches of snow here through today and tomorrow and as cold as -16 temps. We are pretty much snowed in, even with a 4WD truck. It is doubtful that the mail will even be delivered....I don't blame them! We're under a state of emergency and the National Guard is on standby to help folks stranded. This is nuckin' futs!! So far, no power outages. I heard this morning Louisiana is having tornadoes! That's just crazy!
