Wow...just saw a report of people who actually made it to work and are then stuck cause all 4 tires are freezing to the asphalt. Cop cars cant handle it so they are driving around in various city trucks.

Crazy stuff man.....cant remember the last time we were stuck like this. Of course Corporate is expecting everyone to run thier routes like business as usual (on inch thick ice)....I for one, was glad that most of our guys phoned in....no sense in risking killing anyone in our big @$$ed delivery trucks. Mgmt is hating it tho. I offered to let them come get me then take me home at days end....no takers

:)

Krup, think you're doin the right thing by staying home. Even here, where we did not get the ice, road crews, city officials are urging folks to stay home and off the roads unless it is an emergency. I know, in these times when folks are concerned about their jobs it may be tempting to try to get through the streets to work, but.....not having a job is rather moot if you get stuck somewhere and can't make it to work anyway, or heaven forbid, lose your life or become disabled as a result of being in an accident on streets that clearly are not safe to travel on.

Stayin' home, kickin' up your feet, makin' a drink, watchin' a movie, readin' a book, spendin' some quality time with your family/and kids...makin' it a memorable day for other reasons other than being an "historic weather event" sounds good to me!! drinker

Sorry about your frozen pipes, Kristi. sad2 I was worried about ours too, so I opened the cabinet doors under the kitchen sink before I went to bed last night, seem to work.

At least the snow has moved on, but I guess we have another round coming this weekend. slaphead The sun is out today, doubt that much melts off as it is only 10 degrees here, but it is good to see the sun and the wind has stopped blowing so much. We didn't lose power, satellite, phone service or Internet, so all-in-all, it's just the huge snow drifts we are dealing with. I gotta give the plow trucks around here kudos too, they did a great job of clearing HWY 54 and traffic is passin' on thru at a pretty normal pace.

If you've got pics of the weather where you are, please post them.

Hahahah happy days are here for now anyway...Went on the internet to find ways to un thaw pipes so here I was under my house with a hair dryer blowing the pipes....whoa    And whoolaa I felt a small rumble in my hands and off they shot...........    I have water now just came in and fixing to go take me a long hot shower hehehehe    rofl rofl rofl rofl

Keep a small stream of water flowing and your pipes won't freeze. Unless you just like blowing pipes......smokin

This is what I woke up to this morning and it is still snowing.....

Hell this crap is running as far south as Texas

I know that we only got a touch of it but for us that is a lot.

At least this time it is snow and not all the ice we got 3 days ago...I hope that everyone is staying safe and warm....bigsmile
