I like that it is surrounded by mountains, in 3 directions I'm less than an hour away from being 8500 feet or higher and the fourth tops out at about 5k. Aside from that it kinda sucks, we have a statue of Poncho Villa downtown for gawd sakes...PANCHO VILLA! A rapist, murdering thief and we have a statue of this creep downtown given to us by Mexico years ago. Other than that its like any other city with crime, homeless, gangs and corruption.

Well I am in Louisville Kentucky. Home of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. The derby experience is a 2 week party that kicks off with an event called Thunder over Louisville. Which is the largest fireworks show in the US occompinied with a really cool air show..............

Pittsburgh! You name it, we got it! It's all good! Even having all 4 seasons in a single week. And of course, the Steelers and Pens! We're not always named in the top 14 (and more than once, #1) most livable cities in the U.S. for nothing! ha!

Lincoln City is an Oregon coastal town.
It is considered a 'destination' resort kind of place.
Big casino, Outlet Mall, Golf courses, and small town charm.
You come, we take your $$, everyone is happy.
Then you go home.
Which used to be the motto promoted by the Governor,
"Come and visit beautiful Oregon, then go home."

It is not just the fascinating Pacific Ocean here.
There is abundant wildlife, ever-present, like a zoo
in your backyard. The Siletz Bay is a natural habitat
wildlife refuge. You can crab at will, clam, shrimp,
and ocean/bay fish.

Eagles soar overhead, whales caravan by.
Seals pup on the Spit, and big round eyes follow you
as you stroll along the beach.
Windsurfing rocks, and surfing trials are here.
Many used bookstores and antique shops line the villages.

If we had a TacoBell, we would be set.

Manvel, nothing here but Houston twenty miles North and NASA twenty miles East. About ten miles West we have one of the largest alligator populations around and Galveston Island is twenty miles South. I look outside and see mostly cows and trees, but everything a big city offers is close.

We have great people here, in Anderson, Indiana. Not many working due to the GM downfall, putting half of our population out of work, but we remain friendly and hopeful. We have a nice casino and horse track very nice park with lots to do and we are 38 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

Rietberg/Mastholte Germany

My City is Darwin In the Northern Territory Australia.
We are the top of the Outback. A land that you have to love just becaue it is so beautiful and different. It is a place tht will stay in your heart and soul forever, no matter how far away you go you will never ever see anything that is so vast, so bare , so beautiful, and just plain old friendly when you do see another hunan.
It is a fantastic place to live, our winters hit around 80 and our summers cruise in the 100's.
Everybody is friendly and laid back (as long as you dont want something done as it just wont happen, we are never ever in a hurry)
We have gorgeous beaches, (hmmm but you cant swim in them as there are crocs, sharks and box jellyfish. Although some tourist do swim. (have no idea why)
We have a population of 200 000 in our entire state which is 2 and a half times the size of texas or 6 times the size of great britain, (so if you break down on an outback road and arnt prepared you could die as nobody may come along for ages.)

Founded in 1835 and later named for Arkansas Governor Archibald Yell, Yellville is a town of tradition as well as tourism.

A prominent military and governmental leader of the early 1800s, Governor Yell had been in the War of 1812 and was a Federal judge, a Congressman and Governor. Incorporated in 1855, Yellville was first known as Shawnee Town before it took the name of Yellville. The town is now known far and wide for its annual Turkey Trot Festival held the second weekend in October, an event that includes the National Wild Turkey Calling Contest.

Crooked Creek, a famed smallmouth bass stream and spring float stream, runs right through town. Yellville's City Park affords access to Crooked Creek with a canoe landing, lighted walking trail, ball diamonds and sports court.

This genuine Ozark Mountain village shares its pastoral scenery with those who visit to fish and float the Buffalo National River and other nearby streams.

Yellville residents work in small industries, in lumber, agricultural and tourist trades. They provide public services as they teach the 1100 students in the Yellville-Summit schools. After graduation, students may pursue higher education nearby at Arkansas State University Mountain Home located 25 miles to the east, and North Arkansas College at Harrison, 25 miles to the west.

The climate is mild with average winter temperatures of a moderate 35-40 degrees. Average annual rainfall is 40-45 inches.

I live in Downtown Annapolis. It's a beautiful historic city. The City Dock, which is on the Chesapeake Bay, is a few minutes walk from here. My place backs up to the Naval Academy.. which also means there's tons of hot Navy guys around the city at all times. St. John's College is a few blocks up the street. There are lots of great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

It's not a big city, but there's tons going on all the time. When the weather is warmer, there's tons of boats out and Ego Alley (where all the boaters park their big fancy boats) is full. There are sailing races in the warmer weather as well. Definitely a huge sailing city.

Also during the summer, there are tons of outdoor activities going on such as concerts and festivals.

It's a very walkable city, too.

The most haunted house in Annapolis is a block and a half from here. There are also tons of other haunted places, apparently.

I'm also just a few blocks from the State House and the Governor's Mansion as well.

Mastic Beach.... we just became an incorporated village, are 70 miles east of New York City on Long Island, five minutes from Smith Point Beach where the memorial to Flight 800 is, and just a ferry ride away from Fire Island...
