No not weird at all im the same way myself, n whats more is the huge one i have on my back is constantly a topic of conversation with ppl. Alot of strangers walk up n comment about my tat n how much they like it n where did i get it done etc. I enjoy that, i am a wee bit of an artist at heart n i see the body as a canvas to some beautiful pieces of art tattooed on.

I have a different question...

When you had your 1st tattoo's done did most of you plan your 1st or have it done spur of the moment? Did you get the Hepatitus Vaccine 1st? (twinrix ect.)? Never a bad idea, most Tattoo shops are all clean and good, but better to be safe than sorry.

I have planned to have tats since I was like 13 lol lucky highschool makes it where you have to be vaccinated I had my first when I was 16 so no worries there but I always make sure I go to a clean shop even that tat I got in Thailand was awesome and traditional he burned the needle scorching red so no jerms there lol

My first one was gotten spur of the moment, but I had wanted it for a while before. I went with my bff when he got his tongue pierced and saw a nice Pit Bull design on the wall. The shop was clean & professional and I had been vaccinated for just about everything when I worked at the hospital.

My second tattoo I had been thinking about for a while and looking for an artist! That tattoo and my next 2 planned are part of a healing process from emotional trauma so I wanted someone who I could trust to tell the significance of what they are drawing on me. The 2 I have are obvious, but the next 2 are not so simply understood. Explaining those digs up strong emotions about my personal life, and although I am not intentionally secretive about my personal life, I generally do not discuss it with people that have not been a close part of it for many years! I had several shops to investigate when my little sister came to town to get a tattoo from the guy that did her first one. He was too busy that night so referred her to his apprentice & I knew he was the guy for my work by the time he finished her tattoo. A week later I got the tribute for my Dad on the anniversary of his passing!

I keep up with Scott's work on FB and he does some really sweet & twisted chit-LOL! He's definitely doing the next 2 I have planned. I'll post some pics next week when I get that one too.

I have one on my upper arm I've had 31 years now but really wanting a memorial to my man who died just over 2 years ago. I want his profile on my shoulder so he's 'always got my back'. It has to be the right artist because this one is special! I am currently saving my bucks for this because it Has to be done right and I know it will cost some bucks! Also wanting to put his ashes into the ink and I know artists can do this.

I don't have any yet. I plan to get one...something to do with wolves (they symbolize something important to me), but I haven't decided exactly on what or where.

All my tats mean something to me my dragon/demon represents Power
my Geisha-represent what I believe is Beautiful
Kanji means relentless and always moving and I am relentless in my fights and in the pursuit of my goals

my tiger with ancient thai righting is especially important to me it was blessed by a 114 year old monk and done old style with a single needle on the end of a bamboo rod

I have a wold on my calf as well my favorite animal and I go through life as a lone wolf just trying to survive

All my tats in someway are burned on me and engraved on my soul and all my future ones will be as well

Steve it is weird I have too become addicted to the feeling it can be incredibly painful yet feel so good, I understand why so many peoples from other cultures have many religious beliefs that go with tats

It's funny how the same symbol an mean different things for different people.

For me, the wolf isn't about being alone at all. Wolves are pack creatures. For me, the symbolic wolf has to do with that, my pack. My family and friends, how I feel about them, what I would do for them.

Fireflysgirl: Your dragon and phoenix is awesome. I love what these two symbolize, and it's pretty neat that you took what is generally considered an Eastern concept (yin and yan) and represented it with a Western Dragon

I know wolves are pack creatures but there are outcasts and Lone Wolves and those are the ones I most admire
