The point of this thread was to have a spiritual discussion without using other objects to back their belief eg., the bible. That was not done in here, no one tried using the bible of any form of "evidence". Just mentioned the bible, didn't get into detail and into reference of any verse(s) as that was the intention of this thread. So, no I didn't fail to do anything. I did exactly as the thread was asking.

But of course we couldn't accomplish this. Not because of the Christians. But because of the people that seem to only be here to bash on the Christians.

Yes the old testament was mentioned, WE GET THAT FUNCHES. Listen please, for once, just listen. This thread was placed here to have a spiritual discussion without using foreign objects, eg., the bible, koran, or any other possible religious book. In the discussion at hand, no foreign object was used, it was merely mentioned. No verses were posted to back any sides, no verses were used to support what one was saying. It was merely mentioned. And besides that, I told no one to read anything.

Cowboy 2 never TOLD anyone to read anything. Merely stated a fact if you had read in the old testament, you would see that sins were passed down. That's all. I NEVER told anyone to read it though. Keep in mind, read can be used as a present action or a past tense, already done form of action. That is what was being said, if one had read "red" the old testament, they would see this. Again, never told anyone to read *reed* it. Nor did I use any verses from that to form my discussion at that instance. Was merely mentioning a book. Didn't say in Psalms XXX it says xxxx or anything a long those lines. Did not use the bible to present any form of support of what I was stating, just merely mentioned it.

But yes, this is why one can not discuss with another one about anything spiritual, for they fly off their rocker like you did here. And it gets way off topic and out in left field far from what the discussion had originated from. So please try to keep on subject so we can all discuss spiritual things, without using any form of referenced "book" to support our claims. As that is what was being done in here and what the purpose of this thread was for.

You keep talking about the Bible like as if it's an "object". Like as if you refrain from referencing the "object" directly, then you are still permitted to use ideas and assertions that came exclusively from that "object".

I think the topic that Redykeulous was trying to get at was to ask people what makes them believe in "spirit" outside of any ancient fables.

You keep making statements like "Sin are passed down from generation to generation", or "God gave his only begotten son to die so you can live", etc.

There is no way that any of those ideas can be supported without the Bible.

Or more to the point, Redykeulous is asking, how could you know any of that stuff if you didn't get it from the bible?

What reason would you have for believing in any of those thing had it not been for the hearsay rumors that have been passed down via the writings of the bible?

You can't handle that situation because in truth you have absolutely no reason whatsoever to believe in the spiritual things that you believe outside of those ancient stories.

In other words, it's just the STORIES that you actually believe in, and you have no reason to believe in any of that stuff outside the scope of those stories.

The problem with you is that you just make the same claims that are being made in the Bible but simply denying that the bible is ultimate the source of these rumors.

I'm personally convinced that you, yourself, are in denial of what can and cannot be known. You can't even begin to be honest with other people until you learn how to be honest with yourself.

Self-honesty must come first.

But you can't be honest with yourself if you're in continual denial.

The religion is based on FAITH. You really need to face that fact first and accept it, only then can you move forward. You can keep the FAITH if you like, but at least recognize it for what it is and quit pretending that it's something more than that. You aren't doing anyone any good when you take that stance. All that does is show people that you can't differentiate between faith and truth.

The bible is an object. And it was mentioned ONE time in here and then people flew off and got this thread way out in left field. You guys don't know how to have a civil discussion, you guys are merely here to "debate". So please learn how a discussion is done and how people may or may not make a mistake from time to time saying something without thinking. And just move on from there and get back on discussion of what was intended, rather then ranting on and on and on and on and on and on about it leading the thread way out into the middle of no where.

Then you and another went off on a rant about it, could you not have just ignored my post and or something as such? Why bring it out into an entire discussion all in it's own. But what I said did not break the thread rules, I did not use the bible to support anything I was saying. I merely MENTIONED it. So again, why take this discussion entirely off course and off topic of what was being discussed to rant about someone just mentioning the old testament? I messed up yes, that is definitely clarified, so can we not just move on? Why keep at it? Why waste so much time ranting about nothing, when we could be discussing what this thread was intended for?
