A relationship will work if there is mutual understanding between the partners.
In most of the cases it doesn't work as distances decreases the understanding between them. Partners find it difficult to contact each other. In love, u see ur partner, u hear them, u talk with them and you feel them close to your heart. you feel that they are with you whenever they need you.
in long distance relationships, these things is not present to strengthen your relationship.
It then comes down to the depth of love between then for such a relationship to work.

AV

i was in a long distant relationship with my ex hubby way before we even got married

They can work if you both want them to.

I still believe that long distance relationships can work. It just takes the time and patience for it to work out. And lots and lots of communications. It takes lots of work and if both peopl are willing to put the effort into the relationship it will work.

Of course they can just takes a lot more effort. Look at all the success stories here! I still have my hopes up with a certain someone. Just keep positive.

They may work out for some people but eaven for those it does work with I think would come clean to that its unhealthy both mentally and emotionally. Pluss the government gets too much money in taxes from all the hand lotion distributed.
