You know what don't judge me, you have no idea where I have been or the things that I have seen. For your information, I have myself lived in the people city mission and have asked for help. I have seen that side of the world unlike some that offer opinions without seeing it. But unlike alot of those on welfare, I worked 3 jobs while getting back on my feet and have busted by butt every day of my life to get me and my son where we are today.

I don't speak from ignorance, I speak from everyday experience that is ongoing as I continue on a weekly basis to volunteer to help in the same place in which I asked for help 14 years ago.

And don't tell me I was judging others either because I was offering a personal opinion by suggesting there there should be time limts set for free benefits from the government.

Does anyone know if they plan on keeping the bars? or renovating them for housing?

I don't agree with the bars like prisoners, but using an unused facility would help save some money.

Not all people on welfare are the "stereotype". Some use it to get them out of a bad situation (as it should be) and some take advantage of it. I know some take advantage of it....I have seen it.

doesn't sound like the want to spend any money on it. but even without bars, there is only one way in and out.

some houses only have one door too laugh

If they remove the fences, barb wire, guards and bars....it would be a good idea to use a place that big.

I don't think renovating would be as expensive as building from scratch....would it?

Some of the youngins here that went to Job Corp had describe it and it doesn't sound much different than this. They were housed and had curfews etc.

Dunno....as long as it is renovated, I don't have a problem with it if it helps people and remains voluntary

yep I agree on that point. When it is forced...then you will hear me yelling cross country laugh

If it is voluntary and they want this program, then go for it.

Not everyone on welfare wants to be there. Many just need to to help them out, but they want to be self sufficient. I admire that.

Those that need it and use it for a hand up....I would gladly help them.

Everyone has obstacles in life....it's how you deal with them that is the kicker laugh

that goes for dems too. I don't trust either. My brother in law has a saying that I love

Voting is choosing the snake with the least venom. But you don't know which is which until after you are bitten laugh

I don't care which party it is. If it is to help people....I'm for it. If it is to mess up the people....no thank you

Actually that argument that "they're both bad" doesn't fit here at this time. After all that's been said I don't see how people can ignore that it was the RW that ruined this country...and while the DEM's attempt to recover all the RW want is for Obama and the DEMs to fail...even at the cost of America...they just don't care..and do it for political reasons...they will tear down the castle to own it...unbelievable.

To not know the difference is inexcusable and in complete denial of the ralities of the Dippic years....Who in their right mind would vote GOP or for these nutbag racist moronic T-baggers.

Herding the poor into prisons is just what the right wing would love to do.

Voluntary is a joke.

You are poor and you can't afford housing and they lock your *** up in "volutary poor house" because you and your kids are homeless.

Oh yea

Sounds like the "take away your freedoms in guise of helping you right wing nuts in this country.

There are limits.

Welfare it is 5 years for a lifetime.

Why do you think congress has to keep approving an extension on UE? Because it has limits.

K...Soooo Lets see...you want to take housing that has been deemed UNFIT for O lets see...murderers, rapists, criminals. Lets take all the poor peeps and cram them in there!! all the single moms and thier children Lets put them in unsanitary, unfit, unsafe PRISONS!!! Hey thats a great idea...Now lets see who should go 1st...O I know!!! lets start with curious George Bush...Hes unemployed, has done nothing BUT take free handout money from the Gov. and lets face it, its not like hes going to get an education anytime soon. Perfect candidate!!! Or better yet, how be you start with all the people who think this is a good idea...you can even post a notice over the gate..."hard work will set you free" frustrated frustrated frustrated frustrated frustrated
