he's just trying to ruin the country 3000 Americans died there, and he stands up for the people that killed them... that yellow streak on his back is getting bigger

There were 2,796 victims on 9/11 and not all were Americans. Victims came from 70 different countries. By all means remember the victims but do not insult them in same breath by saying they were all Americans. I'm sure each was proud of his own nationality.

then why were they here? i mean, i'm proud of america, and i'm not anywhere else...

Companies from other nations had offices there as well. A Korean bank, Japanese Bank, NHL offices, Consulates. Companies from Europe, Australia, Asia.
so it's an insult to be called an American? when did this change com about?

I for one am Canadian. There were Canadian victims at the Towers. Canadian not American.

Trivia: Canadians fought in Nam by volonteering for US military. They were buried as "proud Americans" ...... their families feel different.
their families didn't volunteer and die fighting with Americans, did they? the whole fact of the matter stands that 3000 people died that day, right? all this pointing other directions and trying to say how good of a people they are is stupid. now they want to build a war monument on that site and saying it's their right to build a mosque there is again, stupid. they also have a right to build it somewhere else.

Or they can use the Mosques already built in Lower Manhattan.

first of all it's two blocks from ground zero. second, only one floor will be used for prayer which doesn't constitute it as a mosque. it's just funny how the neocons are running scared at this news story. Do you think preventing one mosque would stop any of us from becoming radicalized or plotting attacks???? This attempt at preventing our rights of worship alone will probably radicalize a small percentage. Your hate is just embolding common people into taking up the terrorist fight. You will not win this. Inshallah

this may seem stupid, but I dont like assuming, and if you dont wish to answer due to hatred in these threads I understand

but have you studied islam? I only ask because I am always curious to hear from those who actually have STUDIED it personally as opposed to the many westerners who only know the snippets they have HEARD about,,,

if you're asking me, i've been muslim all my life and have studied it in various madrasas in Cairo, Baghdad, and Gaza.

and Muslims too died in the towers.

No matter how hard they try the hatemongering cannot make sense because it not meant to.

wow, and I thought america represented religious freedom , so that americans could be ANY Religion they chose,,,

Im always learning new things about this great AMERICA on these threads,,,

It's not like anything really, like the mingle2 political section, which is pretty much been hijacked by fundamentalists. Just roll down on each topics, it's all the usual suspects..about 5-6 of them. Actually just stop replying to them, they are here to irritate the rest with their garbage.

ok, topics are overlapping here

I was talking strictly of the cordoba initiative, which is being run by the imam

there is also park 51 , of which the imam is only a temporary head until a non profit is formed

but here is what I found on the loudspeaker issue(kind of as I figured , it would be about city ordinance and not religious culture)

City noise ordinances govern loudspeaker use, and there is no evidence that developers have any interest in applying for a permit to project the call to prayer. The vast majority of mosques in the U.S. do not amplify the adhan in their local neighborhoods.

from islam.about.com

I also found other sites referencing there are no plans for loudspeakers,,,

Of course there isn't any evidence they are trying to get the permit, hell the building isn't up yet but im sure when it goes up they will start applying.

It's noting more then brand polishing. They gotta make their brand look better to American's so they can sell it to them.

I am not trying to deny anyone their rights. I just think that
building the ground zero mosque or islamic center if you will
so close to the attack site is a bad idea for a variety of reasons
and I understand why reasonable people are offended by it.

The point I was making above is that even if people are unhappy
with having to move the location of the planned islamic center
that can never be an excuse to kill people. Not one person. Certainly
not THOUSANDS.

noway

There is no justification for terrorism. Ever.

well, I dont play the blame game, I feel responsibility is rarely accurately applied because BLAME is a so much more liberating idea to most

there is no EXCUSE for killing people other than in self defense, but people do have RESPONSIBIILITY for behaving with and treating others with dignity

Unlike liberals, true vegetarians don't eat their own.

True pacifists will take the bullet and not wish harm on the murderer.

So you don't blame anyone for the 9/11 world trade center bombings?
Everyone is equally to blame?!?

and that proves my point,, nowhere did I post that I dont BLAME anyone,,,,PRIMARY responsibility lies in the one who chooses to commit the action and is equal to BLAME

I said I do not play the BLAME game because it tends to make everyone else feel ALLEVED of responsibility or a need to change anything

If I walk down an alley at night alone in a daisy duke skirt and a halter, my IRRESPONSIBLE behavior may lead to me being raped,,,the rapist will be to BLAME for the rape, but I will have to take RESPONSIBILITY for my decision to be so careless and CHANGE that behavior in the future

If I stand in front of a wrecking ball and the operator does not stop it,,the operator is to BLAME for not stopping the ball, but I am RESPONSIBLE for standing in front of it in the first place

BLAME makes it all about the REACTION and ignores what lead to it, and thats how NOTHING changes, cause people continue doing the same thing without even CONSIDERING the slightest change,,,

insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome...
