Does a piece of paper indicate marriage? Or does a life long commitment of mating and acceptance into the understanding of agape love constitute marriage.....In essesnce do we have to pay the government for our marriage to be accepted and condoned by god.....or does following the rules and guidelines within your marriage placed for under christianity a marriage under god make?

for legal recognition the paper is important
I think a formal 'religious' ceremony is valid under God,( although it makes sense to take it to completion with the legal aknowledgement)

the important things should be asking to be joined by God, speaking the vows to live as one under God, speaking it in front of witnesses such as family and friends and having the minister/pastor seal the deal (kind of like their involvement in baptism, although it is God who saves)

Are you Catholic? Because, generally speaking, only Catholics have such a thing as a "deadly" sin. If you are, then you should ask a priest. If you're not, what do you care???

If I were going to go to a priest for advice, the first thing I would do is be sure NOT to even bring up the word "lust".

Instead, what I would do is explain to the hierophant the situation that concerns me and then see what advice he or she gives (are their female priest yet?)

Anyway, the priest might not even see the situation as being a situation of 'lust' maybe he will see it in some other light altogether.

There are no female Catholic priests.

I think lust is a good thing. I hope to feel it again one day.

lusting or getting lusted over?

I would prefer both simultaneously. Otherwise it's not that fun.

I'd settle for just a little bit of desire.

Especially in the department of sexual attraction.

Things have really been blasé around here lately. It's been really hard for me to even find women that arouse me anymore. But then again, I never go anywhere so that's probably why. laugh

I need to break out of my 'lust' for staying home.

Yeah really. The one-way thing is a bit frustrating. If the feeling isn't mutual, it's just not going to work for me.

In fact, to reveal a little secret, I'm pretty sure it would be virtually impossible for me to physically rape a woman and have intercourse with her against her will. That situation just does not excite me sexually and would in fact, turn me off to the point where copulation would be impossible.

If the woman isn't excited about having me around, then forget it. I don't care how "hot" she might be physically. If she has no interest in me, then it's a done deal right there.

I absolutlely require the psychic emotional connection. Without that, there's no sense in even talking about sex.

I'm a cerebral lover. You've got to stimulate my pineal gland if you want my penis to participate in the grand scheme of things. bigsmile

Unfortunately, it's actually difficult to find women who can even comprehend that concept.

Well, I can't tell you how many woman thought that all they need to do is just 'get naked' and I should be all set to go just because they are naked.

Sorry. It doesn't work that way for me. But I guess it does pretty much work that way for most other men. So I must be the freak.

I'm just too cerebral-oriented I guess. I don't know if that's been a blessing or a curse.

Well, considering the state of my love-live, I guess it's been a curse for the most part. ohwell

Oh yeah!

Of all the sins to die from that's probably the most desirable one. bigsmile

I wouldn't mind dying from an overdose of lust.

What a way to go!

Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of judging ourselves before God. He is the judge, and his standard of goodness is much higher than ours. If we are not perfect in word, thought and deed, then we are sinners, and therefore need a Savior. You're no different than anybody else. I don't have to know your heart to say you're a sinner; God already knows and He has already pronounced the whole world guilty of sin, and that includes you and I. So I can say without doubt that you have sinned, not based on my own opinion of your heart, but based on what God has himself declared concerning your heart, and if we will take an honest look at our lives in light of God's law (the 10 commandments), we are not nearly as good as we think.

Ya, mon. It's deadlier than a nuclear bomb, or killer bees, or skillet tease.

More people died in consequences of uncontrolled or uncontrollable lust, than everybody combined in deaths by nuclear bomb, viper bites, barracuda attacks, and shark feeding frenzies.

Lust is the third greatest killer in the United States, in the 98 to 208 year old population demographic.

thats true. Condemning lust and physical pleasure is part of Christianity's general effort to promote the afterlife over this life and what it has to offer. It helps lock people into the view that sex and sexuality exist only for procreation, not for love or even just the pleasure of the acts themselves. Christian denigration of physical pleasures generally, and sexuality in particular, have been among some of the most serious problems with Christianity throughout its history.

I don't know about that... guess who served 19 years less a day for armed shoplifting, causing a public disturbance of the peace? I could have got away with two weeks probation, but I was jaywalking at the same time, and they got me on that rap too.

God was not even close at the sentencing.

Sure we do. According to what the Gospels have to say, Jesus has already given us all the information required to know whether or not we are sinners. It should be a rather easy assessment to make.

Based on the ministry of Jesus I can easily say that I'm sin free.

He is the judge, and his standard of goodness is much higher than ours. If we are not perfect in word, thought and deed, then we are sinners, and therefore need a Savior.

Could you please show me where you saw the commandment "Thou Shalt Be Perfect". I personally don't recall seeing anything even remotely close to that.

Looks do not inspire lust in me. It is the person and what they are like.

for me, looks can really do the trick. I went in to get my bloodwork done and a middle-aged macedonian woman technician sucked the blood out of me and put it into small littli vials for me. She was nothing to look at, dumpy, with a hint of a two-week old slight cheese smell about her and a budding mustache. But she looked at me... and in her eyes I got lost.

Nothing happened, only the blood got sucked out, what with professionalism these days. But I was high as a kite from her lustful look for a week. It was not a lecherous look; it was not a lustful look; it was the look of admiration, perfect capitulation, with a hint of sadness in her look from the realization that it would take just one gesture from me and she would be a helpless little shivering putty in my hands.

That turned me on like crazy.

Oh absolutely. Sex is a wonderful thing. To attempt to filthy it up in the name of God is truly dispicable. Christians make Jesus out to be a monster, when in fact, he was probably as nice as me or maybe even nicer. bigsmile
