everything's evil. depends on how one interprets it.

there are entities out there that are far worse than "the light bearer".

nothing matters, but what you make matter. out in the wilderness, you only react to your surroundings. when with people, it's the same way. throw religion into the mix...............and you have a greedy selfish mess.

Nottice without outside involvement, this would include poisons, knives, guns, and so on.

Cowboy...if you can't use anything then it's not suicide...DUH?

it's amazing how you preach about "Free Will" but yet see how even you are trying to take away choice ...don't people have the "Free Will" to committ suicide the way they want to...

Yes people do have the free will to commit suicide. But suicide is a one way ticket to no where.

so is Heaven

Found it :D

1Corintians 3:17

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are

didn't Jesus defile the temple of God when he had a conniption fit with the money changers..

Funches, our body is the temple of God. Not some man made building.

if some man made building is not the temple of God...then explain why Jesus had a conniption fit in the temple with the money changers

1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

well that ends that theory about Jesus being perfect...perhaps Jesus forgot to practice what he preached and "turn the other cheek"

This is the verse that was refered to by others, nottice it says "temple" not the temple of God. Just plain ole temple.

Mark 11:15
And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves

Seems to be depending on what bible you're looking in. I redid my search and found both the verse you said and the verse i said.

Doesn't really matter anyways, cause i've done shown the verse where it says that your body is the temple of the holy spirit and God resides in us all.

because you guys are trying to drift off into never neverland

That is the conclusion that you jump to - perhaps because you have known other people who do drift off to never neverland, while making the same observation.

.....if you can't leave out of your body anytime you choose then you're stuck with it....you're stuck inside it which means at this point in time your body is you.....let's try to keep the debate in reality

I agree that there is a very strong connection between 'you' and 'your body', I agree that you can't leave it, I agree that you are responsible for it.

None of these is sufficient cause for claiming that one is identical to their body.

There is a very simple basis for realizing that you are not only your body - that you must also, at least, be an emergent property of the sum of the body's metabolic activities.

Are you still with us an hour after your body has died? Can I point to your corpse and say 'there's Funches'? Is there no significant difference between a living Funches and a dead Funches?

if you have lack of control over yourself then you are a danger to yourself and to others and clearly shouldn't be driving a car..you either get help for the problem or be place somewhere where you can do less harm

if you do have control over yourself..then take responsibility for what you do instead of making up excuses that your body is not you

Funches! Oh my! Did you just 'prove' that I am my car? Or that its irresponsible of me to deny that I am my car?

This is very simple. Being responsible for a body is not the same as being that body.

Therefore, denying that you are are that body is not the same as denying responsibility for that body.

This whole 'denying you are the body is a denial of responsibility' thing is a complete red herring which you've introduced several posts back - lets acknowledge it as such and move forward.

You identify with your body. I identify with my mind. I believe cowboy identifies with his 'soul'.

Exactly. Jesus was a Mahayana Buddhist. The scriptures support this conclusion more than any other. Where they came up with the idea that he was a sacrificial lamb sent by Yahweh to be nailed to a pole to pay for the sins of man is beyond me. There's nothing in prophecy that even remotely suggests such a thing.

Anyone who wants to accept the teachings of Jesus should flush the Old Testament down the toilet, and realize that Jesus was indeed teaching pantheism, and not Yahwehism. laugh

In fact, they should also flush most of what's in the New Testament down the toilet as well, especially anything written by Paul, or Matthew. And then just sift through what's left weeding out any propaganda that tries to tie Jesus back onto Yahweh. They won't end up with much left, but it's not a problem. If they want to know more about what Jesus actually taught all they need to do is study Mahayana Buddhism and they can enjoy the real teachings of Jesus unadulterated by those nasty Hebrew authors.

And i specifically showed you the same verse and said only temple not temple of God. Depending on what bible, eg., King james, New King James, New International, and so on you're using each would have a different interpretation of the original. And believe it or not, ALL Of them state the exact same thing about our body being the temple of the holy spirit. And the only thing you're teaching me funches is how arrogant and belligerent people can be.

I blamed nothing lol. Places where people gathered for God were called temples and now called churches. Very rarely referred to as a temple of God, for our bodies are the temple of the holy spirit and God resides in us.

Yes i'm not arrogant. I just had never seen/heard that temple be referred to as the temple of God. Thank you for showing me differently, much appreciated.
