It's called a "roofie" for short, you can google it, I'm sure you knew that. Just get her some counseling for the rape itself, that drug wears off pretty quickly, anything that sedates a person can be used to rape someone.

i have heard of some form of drug that had been used over the years
but i couldnt remember what it was called and in order to help your friend is to be supportive and perhaps go with her to counseling to help her deal with this |

This happened to one of my friends before (twice actually, she's a slow learner). The world is a dangerous place, people get too complacent with their surroundings.
Some helpful tips: Always know where your friends are Never accept an open drink from a stranger or someone you don't completely trust As for helping your friend with that particular incident, just go through the police and see if she can remember who took her home. It will be hard if there's a lack of evidence but forensics can trace DNA from even a single hair. |

it happens, there are over 25,000 college girls raped every year and they have no idea who, or how it happened....the drug should be banned and its use should carry a heavy sentence.

Poor girl. |

Roofies...bad news. Mixed with alcohol they are downright dangerous.

we're talking about one of the most hideous crimes that is perpetrated every two minutes in this country and you need statistical proof, ok, I aim to please
http://www.paralumun.com/issuesrapestats.htm that's just one of the studies done, many law enforcement angencies and even colleges themselves do their own, but many of them won't publish them for obvious reasons |

The drug is a very strong sedative and is used when strong sedatives are needed. It gets on the street the same way any drug does.
Do not go to parties with people you cannot trust. Your girlfriends friends should not have let her leave the party alone. |

Five floors in a strange hotel room? Might as well have been five miles on a dark country road.

thought by telling the truth i would feel better but i just feel more shame how did i let this happen i am so stupid and even worse i don't remember it at all It's not your fault. It happened to me but I was lucky because one of my brother's friends saw me getting escorted out of the bar by the bouncers because they thought I was drunk. I had ONE drink! I left it on the bar to dance, came back and don't remember anything after that. I'm sure whoever roofied me was waiting and I feel lucky to have escaped what you could not. I'm sorry that you went through this. It can happen to anyone!! You are not stupid and it's NOT YOUR FAULT!!!Please go get counseling ASAP! You can get through it. |
