I have a much bigger problem with lousy grammar and spelling than a few cliches or unoriginal thought. In any event, if I do not like them for any reason, I just move on and don't b!tch about it.

Has anyone stopped to think that LOTS of people genuinely like the beach and that is why this is included in their profile? Maybe they do not spend half their day picking apart other profiles. Perhaps they are busy walking on the beach and not spending their day arguing about it on the internet.

So perhaps we should forgive their cliched innocence.

If somebody "genuinely likes the beach", that's entirely their prerogative. However, they should realize that not everybody "genuinely" agrees. The least they could do is be original. Hell, even saying they enjoy going to the pool is more original.

If it's something they really enjoy, why not include it in the profile? Who cares if 12710381234 other people have it? It isn't there to attract those who don't like the beach. It's there because they actually like it. Is that really so difficult to understand?

Also, speaking of originality, your profile has nothing there. So, why would you be upset that someone else's profile contains things you don't think are original?

First of all, my profile is empty because that's exactly how I intended it to be. I do not have any agenda for being here.

Second of all, even if I WAS "looking for something" (which I am not), the mental image of Plastic Anderson -- I mean, Pamela Anderson -- running in slow motion along "the beach" is enough reason in itself to make me turn the page. You will forgive me if I don't see life as some sort of Harlequin novel.

What happens if you live on or a near a beach??? Huh? Huh? I'll tell you what happens. You normally like it and like walking on it. You are an exception.

You know what I hate? People who think their opinions count for anything and get all pissy and whiny when expressing dissatisfaction.

Meh. Can I help if I have my head and feet firmly grounded in reality? Why is this such a difficult concept for most people to wrap their heads around? Fantasy is only good for movies and books, maybe video games.

That's your issue. Not those who like the beach.

Thank you and amenflowerforyou

lol how true

and wow., who woulda thought this down and out thread would inspire two other glorious ones! LOL

What I found amusing was about 9 months ago a few of us started a survey privately asking women who have "Long walks on the beach" on their profile- if they have ever been to a beach? You would be surprised at how many have not ever been to a beach and said "It just sounded good". What is cracking me up is all the people making declarations here defending the beach itself. Hello, you're not getting the point. Once again, I'm seeing a pattern. A pattern of cluelessness. Three blondes and longhairbiker pull up to a four way intersection all at the same time. Who goes through the intersection first? That's right- longhairbiker. Because if he waited for the three blondes to make a command decision on who goes first he would run out of gas, food, and/ or die from old age by the time the three blind mice make a command decision that the vehicle to your right has the right of way. One word- DUH! I gave up a long time ago. As in bad TV- I have a remote. I still have a delete button here. The arguement is nil. If so many people want to be the same- that is their choice. I just find it amusing- that's all. I really hope you get to have that long walk on the beach with your knight in shining armour. Bring an oilcan for your tinman. Saltwater is rough on chainmail underwear.

And getting beach sand in your bronze codpiece is just a miserable nightmare.

If we can't like walks on the beach, then men can't like to watch football and fart.

Oh, and mine says the boardwalk, not the beach.

I have no problem whatsoever believing this.

Its de-evolution. I gotta have someone more interesting than long walks on the beach. I need substance!

Didn't you say you've never been to the beach? How do you know you'd hate it?
