I vacation in St. Petersburg, Florida a couple times a year. I walk on the beach in the morning for exercise and go to the beach in the evening to watch the sunset. There is just something about the beach that refreshes my spirit.

Yes, it IS my opinion, and I'm welcome to it, and I'm certainly not alone.

If I may be so bold as to borrow a quote from longhairbiker from a different thread:

No. Seriously. My opinion is not the fact people state declarations that are false or misleading in their profiles, but more or less state or declare dillusional subconcious in their profiles. Ya know? Likes long walks on the beach but lives 1200 miles from the beach on a turd infested river? Or has fake boobs, fake eye color, fake nails, fake hair color- but is looking for "A real man". Or how about bragging on how many tattoos and piercings they have but doesn't like anal sex because it hurts? Its just crazy. Every profile in my area is LAME,BORING,and UNORIGINAL. Some are carbon copies of themselves. "Looking for Mr Right. Looking for a "Good man". Where's my knight in shining armour. Sorry dumbass- this isn't 16 century england and my levis don't come in tin and I left my chainmail underwear at home. A lot of f*cked up profiles on here. People say one thing in their mind- but mean something else.

And he's entirely correct!
.......again- its not the beach that bothers me. I enjoy long walks on the beach. I enjoy riding my motorcycle around the world. I like going places and learning about the culture, and class of other people. I like climbing mountains and have 4- 14,000 footers behind me. I like the ambience of being someplace I've never been. I enjoy all types of music and music theory and am blessed to play and understand many instruments. I like cooking and all aspects relating to such. I enjoy quantum physics and aspects of molecular structures that parallel to abstract uses. I enjoy mechanical theory and creating, designing, and engineering. I like to read and write. I like to hunt and fish. I enjoy hunting and ecological conservation- and I feed starving animals, and have planted millions of wild flowers and wild produce for erosion control and to bait and feed animals away from the roadsides to help the state lessen car and animal collisions effectively lowering all of our insurance rates. I like helping others less fortunate than myself and instead of whining about the problems and being part of the problems, I am active and volunteer in civics and charitible organizations and my actions make a difference. I like to volunteer my time to help underpriveledged and abused children. I like to stay current with my rights and stay in touch with my elected officials. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Long walks on the beach- yeah everyone enjoys them. They do not bother me. Being unoriginal and boring and non interesting bother me. The same profile ad over and over gets old quickly. Think about it- after awhile you start wondering if all 41,000 women on this site are the same person- with different pictures. Or you wonder if they really have melded into sheep- all simple, and all the same. Or if I may boldly quote Mr Music- "which reality do some of these people live in and which fantasy novel did it come from?". Its good to dream. Its healthy for the mind and soul. But some people take action upon those dreams and make them realities and truly live and love and respect their lives. Others simply dream their whole lives and never live any of their dreams to fruition. And you can pick THOSE people out very easily by their written profiles on here. They wrote it because "It sounded nice". There are many wonderful kind, considerate, and articulate women on here and its been an honor and a pleasure to converse with so many of them. I've truly enjoyed our conversations. As I have stood in all you ladies shoes before by having a fake profile up in the past portraying an attractive woman to experience the responses and emails you received, I learned that you ladies received a lot of crap. Offensive, dirty, disgusting, rude, and just plain rotten messages from men. I was shocked and amazed......well to you ladies I will say this- if you really want to understand this whole "Long walks on the beach" controversy and why it bothers some people- here's what I'd like you to do- simply go to womens profiles in your area and read some of them. I'm serious. All you women never read another womans profile- you've told me this repeatedly on here. Well I suggest you read a whole bunch of them on here. Seriously!!! WHY? Because once you see the ridiculous amount of repitition in the profiles- damn near carbon copy in some cases- maybe, just maybe you will change your profile to be more personable and unique to your individuality instead of being like everyone elses. So go read a bunch of womens profiles and change yours to who you REALLY are.............maybe if you stand out in a crowd.....a man worthy might not pass you by, and.............even remember your name. Your name is? And you are who? Again, remember- your job here is to attract people- not repel them. "Long walks on the beach" has become a great insect and man repellant on here. Ha ha ha ha! I wish I could market it! I'd be rich! Ha ha ha!!!

Exactly -- they're the same, profile after profile after profile -- all the same words, all the same phrases, maybe sometimes in a slightly different order, and with slightly better or worse spelling and grammar -- but they're almost all the same.

If I go to Wal-Mart to buy socks, and the socks are all basically the same, that's OK.

I expected people's profiles to be a little more creative and original than socks. And I'm constantly disappointed.

I do understand your disappointment, but I can't shake the idea that it is YOUR PROBLEM, not theirs. You don't like the lack of original thought or the absence of a glimmer intellect, tough! I know the limited options are frustrating and even maddening at times, but we impose these parameters on ourselves, do we not?

Buck up Lex.

Absolutely -- in a world where 3% of us actually have something to say, the other 97% will drown us out by sheer numbers. I understand that.

Just saying that it would be nice to run across a functioning neuron once in awhile. I do realize that's a lot to ask.

I will have my Master's degree in May, so I think I still have some functioning neurons. If someone enjoys the beach so be it. If not, that's fine too. We all have our preferences.

not win an essay contest with my profile.

Whining about it is being passive. Moving on to things you actually like would be doing something about it.

I live at the beach and love it I love walking on it rolling around in the warm sand and many things on the beach. Sorry there are some people to unhealthy and incapable of walking on the beach and unable to enjoy it.
