I wonder sometimes wheather these sites ask for your occupation for data mining reasons or just so the gold diggers can narrow the feild down quicker. How much are you influenced by the occupation of a potential match? not much but i've almost always ended up dating guys who work with their hands in some sort of trade: plumbing, electrician, mechanic, etc. maybe it comes with being attracted to scruffy-looking types who don't often wear suits? I can understand the sentiment. They come home sweaty, smelling of tar and grease, they take off their work boots and the spiders spontaneously fall off the walls. I can do that, easily, and I don't even have a job. |

I have been suprised by the depth of feeling expressed by some of the posters on here. I would just like to point out that I did not raise the issue as a means of getting sympathy for not having a great job as I live within my means and I have never been in debt in my life. I obviously have no fear of gold diggers, my point was that some may look at occupation as way to find a meal ticket. The conclusion I have made is to be perfectly honest about my lack of work as then I will never have to deal with the shallow people for whom it's not who you are its what you've got. I would also like to point out that I am not unemployed through choice (few people ever are) I am out of work due to health reasons so at the moment I cannot work. I thank all of you for your replys it's been an eye opener.

How much are you influenced by the occupation of a potential match? B-I-N-G-O....you got it in ONE! Well, to be honest I don't care a whole lot about what someone does for a living. I make my own money (I have always worked.....since I was 16), so I am not looking for some sugar daddy. SAD people do that sort of thing--Poor things! But I would prefer if I were to meet someone special that he make sure that he doesn't bring any BAD smells into my home.....I have worked at a Septic Company & have smelled some pretty bad stuff, BUT don't want that in MY home. |

We LIVE a new life now in this old world,,, TRUST,,,,is a very HARD COMMODITY to HAVE or GET... WELL,,,lol,THIS and my caps,,have been a ME THING on here. For three years,,its a very longgggggg story,,, But I am sorry if it makes reading it hard.. Its my way of emphasizing a words meaning, to my thoughts expressed. Can you DIG-IT??? Something like that,wink,lol But THEIR NOT,,,,RANDOM,,just to let YOU know-that.

The trick is not to reveal your income and status.
I never tell the ladies that I am fabulously wealthy or that I think nothing of flying to Paris for lunch or that I'm a great lover or that I am famous or that........
