Another day in the deep freeze. - 3 & wind chill around -30. No sun, just clouds, BUT sunday it is supposed to be 20. HEAT wave.

Good morning. I got mom's okay to redo the pumphouse. My New Year's resolution is to go one year without the water pipes freezing up. But I really don't have any control of the weather. Last year I changed from being a renter to having a deal with mom to be a renter with option to own. It is the coldest here it has been in ten years I have learned. The lightbulb wasn't enough to keep the pipes from freezing but the bulb with heattape and foam insulation did keep them from breaking. I talked to y aunt across the road and she said they have a heater in their pumphouse and their water is still running. I am going to invest in a temperature controlled heater and bring the pump into the actual enclosed pumphouse instead of being in its little doghouse on the outside of the building. Drinking my bottled water this morning.

Drinking my bottled water this morning. Lord man, glad you are finally fixing that.Even here in the south we know to put heat tape and a heater in the pump house.. Seriously, we do have some pretty cold weather here..today it was 18 degrees..I know ...I know....it's wasn't in the minus digets...but it was still COLD and our pipes freeze up and burst...animals have a hard time and we lose plants and trees...so what I like to do is get all that taken care of while it's still warm, then just flip a switch and not worry about it.

Been writing e-mails now need to go clear snow off roofs. Lots of ice dams on roofs, around here. Going to be a busy day. Thanks for the cup of "joe"
